Synopsis:

***CONTENT WARNING*** New Adult Romance for ages 18+ due to sex scenes and adult situations.

After the video of his public outburst catapulted him to superstardom, Marcus now has everything he ever wanted.

Or so he thought. Be careful what you wish for, his mother always told him...

After spending two years touring the globe, he's growing tired, and that endless line of women has become a sea of blurry and meaningless faces.

When he returns home and receives a visit from Naomi, his previous object of affection, he finally starts to look at himself and what he's become. He doesn't like it.

Something has to change...

On the surface, Lisa is a pretty simple girl. She goes to work, spends time with her friends, and adores her dog, Perry. She loves the quiet life and isn't interested in the bright lights of Marcus's world. So when he takes an interest in her, she makes it very clear that she doesn't want what he's offering. You see, Lisa has secrets, and being seen with Marcus will be the key to her undoing.

Being a man used to getting what he wants, Marcus won't be taking no for an answer. For the first time, he has met someone who he feels a definite connection with, and he won't be taking no for an answer - even if it means inadvertently ruining everything Lisa has worked so hard to conceal...

Will Marcus and Lisa find a way to deal with her secrets and be together? Or will she push him away, ensuring Marcus is destined to always have his affections unreturned?

Review by Gia:
A Beautiful Rock is a great read!!  It's the forth book in the Beautiful series.  It can be read as a stand alone or in order.   I have gathered from the story that Marcus played a part in A Beautiful Melody (Beautiful #3).  I have not read any of the other books in the series.  I was not lost  when reading it.
I loved Marcus and Lisa.  I loved how Marcus and Lisa meet, that was one of the best meeting I have read.
When reading we know that Lisa is keeping stuff from her past secret from everyone.   Marcus' past is not hidden and easily found by goggling his name.  Lisa is hesitant to start anything with Marcus because she doesn't want to be in the limelight.  The past finally catches up with them.  I won't tell you want happens, you'll have to read it to find out but you won't be disappointed.
It has no cliffhanger.  It is a great read.

Reviews of Sunshine (Sunshine #1) and Sun Poisoned (Sunshine #2) by Nikki Rae

Sunshine (Sunshine, #1)
Sunshine (Sunshine #1)
by
Synopsis:

18 year old Sophie Jean is pretty good at acting normal. Sure, she’s not exactly happy, but happiness is nothing compared to being like everyone else. She can pretend she’s not allergic to the sun. She can hide what her ex-boyfriend did to her. She can cover up the scars she’s made for herself. Ignore anything. Forget anything. Then Myles enters her life, and he has more than a few secrets of his own. When accident after accident keeps happening to Sophie, she can’t help noticing that he’s everywhere. That he knows too much. That she’s remembering too much.

It’s one thing covering up her own dark past, but does she really need to worry about people finding out just how much Myles likes her? Or that despite how much she doesn’t want to repeat past mistakes, she kind of likes him back? Not to mention the fact that she now has to conceal that Myles drinks blood-that he says he’s about four hundred years old.

She almost forgot about that part.

But Sophie has no plans to ruin the normal life she has created for herself. She can deal with this little glitch, no problem. Even if word has gotten around to the wrong vampire about Sophie and Myles, even if she’s putting the few people she loves at risk. Suddenly, those who were monsters before are just people, and the monsters? They’re real. Now being a normal human being is the least of her problems. Now she has to stay alive.

Review by Gia:
I loved this book.  I didn't read the synopsis first so I wasn't sure what to expect from it.  I was hooked from the beginning.   I know that the book was going to have a paranormal elements.  Sophie has a disorder called Solar Urticaria, which essentially means she is allergic to the sun.  I immediately thought that she was a vampire. I felt bad when I read on and she says the people usually make fun of her and call her a vampire.
Myles is a great character.   I went into reading this book without knowing much about it.  You know that Myles isn't a normal human because he does things that people can't do.  So, I was like Sophie and didn't know what Myles was until he told her.
Sophie has a lot to deal with in this story.  She doesn't have the greatest mother but her brother Jade seems to make up for were their parents fail.
This is a great read and the ending will leave you wanting more.

Sun Poisoned (Sunshine, #2)

Sun Poisoned (Sunshine #2)
by
Synopsis:
Sophie’s life has changed. She’s moved to New York, she’s playing music for new people, and she’s making new friends. Then there’s Myles, and the fact that he is now her boyfriend—and everyone knows it.

She’s not exactly normal, living in a half-human, half-vampire world, but she’s finally, truly happy. However, some parts of Sophie and Myles’ old lives still hide in the dark, waiting for the right opportunity to strike.

Sophie’s having nightmares again, but they aren't about her; Myles is hiding something as well, something Sophie isn’t sure she wants to know.

And one lie will change everything.

No matter how hard she tries to cover up the marks her monsters have left behind, they never truly go away, and Myles’ monsters are no different.

Once again, Sophie’s caught between life and death, but this time, only she can save herself.

Review by Gia:
This is a good read!  Sun Poisoned is the second book in the Sunshine series by Nikki Rae It can not be read as a standalone.   You must read Sunshine first.  Sun Poisoned picks up where Sunshine left off.  Sophie and her band on now in New York playing a Evan's Club.
So, much happens in this story.  I'm not even sure what to write about it that will be spoiler free.  If you read Sunshine, then this is a must read for you.
The ending was crazy.  It's a big cliffhanger.  I can't wait to read more of Sophie and Myles.

Blog Tour for Perfectly Broken by Prescott Lane

Perfectly Broken by Prescott Lane
Publication date: March 2014
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Synopsis:
Even after years of trauma therapy, Peyton still believes she’s broken.  She has little desire to date or show off her natural beauty, content simply to hang out with her best friends and run her pie shop in New Orleans.  But her world turns upside-down when a handsome architect and self-confessed player shows up in her shop and thinks she’s perfect, much more than the usual hook-up.  While Peyton does her best to resist his charms, believing she could never be enough for him, she can’t deny the obvious heat between them.

With Reed determined to have her, Peyton must decide whether to continue to hide behind her apron and baggy clothes or take a chance and share her scars with Reed, a man with a playboy reputation and scars of his own — a dark past he can’t possibly share with Peyton, not after learning the horrors she’s endured.  But if they can find a way to trust each other, and themselves, they just might be able to heal, to save each other, to live perfectly broken together.

Review by Gia:
I loved  Perfectly Broken.  Peyton owns a pie shop.  Reed meets Peyton through his friend Bret.  Bret is dating Peyton's friend Quinn.  Reed is determined to have Peyton.  At first she wants nothing to do with him.  She has some things in her past that she is keeping locked up.  Eventually their attraction is to strong for her to fight.
I loved the interaction between Reed and Peyton.  I love when Peyton uses pies in analogizes.  Reed's family past and Peyton's past come to light and cause relationship problems.  I was surprised to read what both Reed and Peyton were hiding from their past.   This is a great read!
