 Genre: New Adult Romance

Blurb:
For Miles Conrad, moving to Hampton, Georgia was a way to escape the darkness of his past.

Working as a bartender, he has family and the simple life he never had before.

But sometimes, the past doesn't want to stay where it belongs, especially when it comes to
Reanna “Ray” Adams. She’s the girl he could never have. The girl he could only dream of having,
yet the same girl who could get under his skin like nothing else.

And it seems that no matter how far he can run from everything that is Ray, it’ll never be far
enough.

But things aren’t the same.

He has changed.

In a lot of ways.

But….

All it takes is one moment.

One twisted second…

To shatter everything.

 Excerpt From Twisted

It was Monday morning and I was in class. Miles still hadn’t texted me back, and I wasn’t about to text him again. If he wanted to talk to me, he knew how to respond. I wasn’t that desperate for a friendship with him.

But it still bothered me that I had made him mad. Still. I refused to contact him anymore.

I listened to Professor Jenson go on about our upcoming quiz. I hadn’t had time to study for it, which meant I would be spending this evening with my nose in a textbook. My phone vibrated and I leaned over to see that it was a text from Owen.

I didn’t even bother reading it.

Once class ended, I grabbed all my things and headed back out toward the parking lot. Danny still had some thirty minutes left in her class, so I decided to take her car and go over to the gas station a few blocks down the street and grab something to drink.

I parked out front and walked inside. I headed down the candy aisle and looked for anything that wasn’t chocolate. Danny always found it strange that I didn’t like chocolate, but it was just never something I favored.

The door opened again, but I didn’t bother looking.

“Twenty in gas,” I heard him say.

I looked up to see Miles standing at the counter. He handed the cashier a twenty-dollar bill.

“Miles?” I said.

He turned at the sound of his name. Those rare eyes landed on me and I felt the need to look away, but I don’t. I couldn’t help noticing how tired he looked. His ink black hair was messy and he had fine shadows under his eyes.

“Ray…” He walked over toward me.

I tried not to notice how his dark blue jeans hang nicely on his hips or the way that black T-shirt stretches over his shoulders and biceps.

“Hi.”

He stopped a few feet from me. “What are you doing?”

“Looking for candy.”

An intense silence seemed to thicken the air between us. I looked away from him and pretended to be scanning for candy, but I couldn’t concentrate enough to figure out what I wanted.

“Look, I’m sorry about being a dick Friday,” Miles said.

I didn’t look at him. “It’s whatever. It’s not like I stayed locked up in my room, rocking in the corner or anything.”

“Well, I’d hope not. I was just having a bad day. I shouldn’t have taken it out on you, though.”

I walked toward the chips. Deciding candy wasn’t what I wanted. He followed me. Making sure to keep a good foot or two between us.

“Seriously, Miles. It’s not a big deal,” I said.

“Maybe not to you. It kind of is a big deal to me. I don’t like being an asshole, but it happens.” He sounded genuinely worried.

I looked up to meet his eyes. “We all have those days.”

Miles locked his gaze with mine. A moment seemed to pass between us then he cleared his throat and looked away.

“Um. What brings you out this way?” he asked.

I smiled. He was trying to make small talk.

“Class. You?”

He didn’t answer.

“What? Is it top secret or something? Are you secretly working for the FBI and you can’t tell me?” I asked.

He chuckled. The sound was deep and rumbling. It sent a shiver down my spine.

We walked around the next aisle. Not looking at anything now. Just simply using it as an excuse to keep talking.

Miles moved to stand next to me. I stared at his reflection in the glass as he stared back.

“I should probably get going,” he said.

I blinked slowly. “Ok.”

Miles kept his eyes on me.

“You look beautiful, by the way,” he said before walking around me and vanishing out the door.

My breath caught and I stood rooted to the spot. A tiny flutter settled in my stomach. It was small, but it was there.

I drove back to the school without buying anything. My mind went in a million different directions. That feeling. It shouldn’t have happened. It was wrong. I knew it.

I waited in the passenger seat of the car until Danny came out. She threw her book bag into the backseat and settled in the driver’s seat.

“I have like a dozen different assignments this week.” She looked over at me. “What’s wrong with you?”

“What? Oh, nothing. Why?”

Danny waved her hand around my face. “I don’t know. You have this look about you. Like blushing, but not really blushing.”

“I have no idea what you are talking about.”

She sighed “Ok. Whatever. I can’t believe how much shit I need to do this week. I’m already exhausted.”

“Yeah. Me too.”

“You are acting strange.”

I laughed. “No, I’m not.”

“Yes, you are.”

“Just shut up and drive. I really don’t want to chill out in the school parking lot all day,” I said.

“Fine.”

Danny drove back towards our apartment. She went on and on about this week’s lessons, but I wasn’t listening.

My mind had become foggy. And no matter which way I looked at things, nothing made sense.

Unless…

Everything I knew about Miles had been a lie. Would Danny or Owen tell me the truth if I asked them directly? Or would they question why I asked to begin with when I already knew the truth?

But this truth felt like a lie.

Torment
Genre: New Adult Romance

Blurb:

When Danny Marshall decided to up and leave everything behind to move to Georgia with
her best friend, Reanna, it wasn’t because she wanted to attend college, but that was exactly
what she found herself doing.

But doing anything was better than going back to her hometown of Palm Bay, Florida.

Back to the place where everything changed.

Where she changed.

A broken heart could do a lot of damage.

One night stand after one night stand.

It was the only way she could keep her already broken heart safe.

But when she walked into a bar called Twisted and met Jaxson Steele, with his no bullsh*t

attitude and outspoken personality, she was instantly drawn to him.

Not to mention he was drop-your-panties gorgeous.

Like every man before him, though, she only expected one thing to come out of their quick

connection.

Sex.

That was until she got to know him and realized that maybe…she wasn't the only one with a

broken heart.

Can Danny and Jaxson heal each other or will their pasts rip them apart before they get the

chance?

Excerpt From Torment

My eyes collided with Jaxson’s. He still wore the grin on his face, and just the sight of it made
me crack one myself. His grin widened, and he winked. I laughed under my breath, but Kevin
 still caught us.
“What the fuck is so funny?” he asked, frustration clearly evident in his rough voice.
“Inside joke,” I responded before Jaxson could.
He smirked, which caused Kevin to sigh heavily in defeat.
At that moment, Reanna came strolling out of the hallway looking like a model. No wonder it took
her this long. She wore a pair of jean shorts and a light pink tank top. Her make-up was done to
perfection and she had thrown her hair into a messy bun at the top of her head.
“Damn girl….” I said and slid off the barstool.
She laughed. “You like it?”
“I love it. You are going to help me get ready now, right?”
She wrapped her arm around my shoulders. “Yes!”
Kevin wasted no time in listening to our conversation and raced down the hall to get whatever
Rachel needed . I met Jaxson’s smoldering gaze once more.
“Well, guess I’ll see you later…” I said.
He nodded, turning his body and placing his back to the door to let us through. “Yup.”
I smiled and then let Reanna lead me back out to my car. I saw the look she was giving me when
we left, and I prepared myself for whatever she was about to ask.
Almost as soon as we got into my car, she turned to me. “Ok, what the heck was that?”
I turned the engine over. “What was what?”
She rolled her eyes. “Oh, don’t play stupid with me. That!” she pointed up the stairs to Miles’s
apartment. “Whatever that was! Don’t think I didn’t miss that smile you threw in Jaxson’s direction.”
I laughed before rolling my eyes. “Ok, so I smiled. Who cares?” I was going for nonchalant here
and failed miserably if the look on Ray’s face was any indication.
We were on the road now, heading back across town to my apartment.
“That was not a normal smile. That was Danny’s famous, I secretly want to climb you like a tree
smile!” she said.
I snorted. “That was not that smile! I do not want Jaxson!”
But as soon as the words left my mouth, my mind went straight to him…me…in bed. A shiver
ran down my spine at the thought and I did my best to hide it.
“Whatever. You totally want him,” Reanna said.
I didn’t respond.

Interview With Emily Rose:

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?

Ok, so Twisted and Torment started out as a duet, but overtime, I have started writing the third book and it is now a series. Twisted is book one. It is NA romance, a second chance love story between Miles Conrad and Reanna Adams. These characters went to high school together, but something happens that takes them in different directions. They end up meeting up later in life at the bar Miles works at, Twisted, and things really get intense from that point forward. You get to meet all kinds of side characters, all of whom work at Twisted as well, which brings me to Torment, book two. It is also NA romance and it is the story of Jaxson Steele and Danny Marshall. You get to meet both of these characters in Twisted, but you don't get to really get to know them until Torment. And I mean, these two are really something. I actually think I fell more in love with them than I did Miles and Reanna. Their story is full of twists and turns, even some that I didn't see coming. The third book is coming 2019, but I'm keeping those details secret until the right time! ;) I will say that you get to see all of these characters again, each chapter will be told of a different POV. I'm so excited for this one. I think it will really put everything in the right direction, because everyone knows life surprises you.

2. What inspires you to write?

There is so many things! I will get inspired from the shows I watch, the music I listen to and I listen to a lot of music. It is one of my favorite things to do, especially when I'm writing. I also get inspiration from the people and their personalities. I will get inspiration from anything I can see, hear, and feel. I want my books to be something people can relate to, no matter the case.

3. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I have written ten books, but only two of those are published (Twisted and Torment). I would have to say that my current WIP is becoming my favorite book so far, and that is really saying something, because I love Torment.

4. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?

I don't normally schedule a certain time to write, usually it's just whenever I feel the words come to me. I will say that night is my favorite time of the day!

5. Do you have a release day tradition?

I do what I think most authors do I think. I usually have a drink to celebrate my release.

6. Do you have a favorite spot to write?

Yes, my bed. It is where I am most of the time. When I get around to actually building an office, I'm sure it will be my next favorite.

7.If you could be friends with one of your character, which one would you chose?

That is easy! Jaxson Steele. He is by far my favorite character out of everyone I've written.

8.  If your fairy godmother waved her wand and whisked you away to the location of your choice, which place would you choose?

Hmm, that is a hard one, because there's so many places I would love to see. If I could only pick one though, I would have to say somewhere close to the beach. Maybe the Florida Keys. I hear it's nice there.

9. What  writing projects are you currently working on?

It's a secret, remember? ;) More information will be coming soon. I promise.
