Early Reviews:
*****Just when I thought I couldn't love a book more than Emma's Home (1st book in this series) I was wrong. I fell in love with this story even more. Wow, who wouldn't love a HOT fireman and the steamy sex scenes. Rob and Laurie are both strong characters that you would want to be friends with if Fairfield was a really existed. I will be waiting for the next installment of The Fairfield Series. ***** I found myself so drawn to the characters that I can not put the book down. Easy and addicting book about love, romance and sex. Speaking of romance...it is like Maryann knows what women are looking for in a man and brings it to life. You see how people can change because they want to be a better person for someone who is meant to be. Hurry up and read this book you will not be disappointed! *****This is the second book in the Fairfield series. I love the series and the author Maryann Jordan is amazing. Talk about HOT HOT HOT. I found myself taken in by the characters and feel like I know the people.
Review by Gia:
Laurie's Time is the second book in The Fairfield series. I read and loved the first book in the series, Emma's Home. I was excited to read this one and was not disappointed.
Laurie is Emma's niece so we learn about and meet Laurie in the first book Emma's home but in my opinion Laurie's Time can be read as a standalone. It truly is Laurie and Rob's story.
It's a great read. We learn more about Laurie's parents. Laurie's Mom has passed away and Laurie knows just very little about her father. Laurie's parent's story is kind of a sad story and make you think about how one little thing may have a huge impact.
Laurie meets Rob. He had a bad reputation as a player. Rob is determined to show Laurie that he is worth having a relationship with. Laurie and Rob's relationship has a lot of bumps in the road to overcome.
Along the way, a medical issues arises for one of the characters. For me, when a medical issues arises in a book and I'm not familiar with the medical issues it lessens my enjoyment of the book. I was not familiar with the issues that is bought up in this book but Maryann Jordan does such a wonderful job explaining the issues and having the characters deal with the issues that it only made me love it more.
The is a great read with no cliffhanger.
4 Amazeballs Stars!
I am an avid reader of romance novels, often joking that I cut my teeth on the old bodice rippers. I have been reading and reviewing for years. In 2013, I created the blog, Lost in Romance Books to promote and showcase indie authors. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head, screaming for their story to be told. From these musings, my first novel, Emma’s Home, The Fairfield Series Book 1 was born. I am a high school counselor having worked in education for thirty years. I live in Virginia, having also lived in four states and two foreign countries. I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for thirty two years and am the mother to two adult daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my four cats can generally be found in the same room if not on my lap. Please take time to leave a review of this book (on Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes & Noble). Reviews are the lifeline for indie authors. Feel free to contact me, especially if you enjoyed my book. I love to hear from readers!
