Interview with Jay McLean!!!!

Interview with Jay McLean!!!!

We recently had a chance to interview Jay McLean!!!

Jay McLean is the author of the More Series, including More Than This, More Than Her, More Than Him and soon to be released, More Than Forever. She also has two standalones coming soon titled The Road, and Combative.
Jay is an avid reader, writer, and most of all, procrastinator. When she's not doing any of those things, she can be found running after her two little boys, or devouring some tacky reality TV show.
She writes what she loves to read, which are books that can make her laugh, make her smile, make her hurt, and make her feel.

 1) Can you tell us a little about your books?

The More series follows a group of teenagers and starts from the end of senior year and goes into college years
The first book in the series, More Than This, is based on Mikayla, a strong but sensitive girl, and Jake, the quiet jock with Major League prospects, who, in one night, go from being complete strangers, to a lot more.
Prom night for Mikayla ends in tragedy, and Jake is there to pick up the pieces, help her heal, and help her move forward. Friendships and relationships are formed, and tested. Not just with the main characters, but also the supporting ones.

The second and third books in the series, More Than Her and More Than Him, follow Logan, the cocky yet sensitive best friend of Jake. These books delve into Logan's troubled past, his heartache, and his ability to love with an unmatched intensity. Amanda, a quiet but confident girl, stole Logan's heart after one date. More Than Her and More Than Him follow this couple as they work through their issues, their drama, and their emotions of the events that occurred after their one and only date. Their ride is a rollercoaster, and one that needed two books to showcase their journey.

The supporting cast is highlighted in all three books. Each book follows from the previous, with timelines overlapping, short flashbacks and continuations of storylines. They should not be read as standalones.

The series stands out as one that is emotional, with breaks of humor, heartache, and slight steaminess. They are not just love stories between two characters. They are about friendship, family, life, and self-discovery.

The next book to be released in the series, More Than Forever, will follow Cameron and Lucy, prominent supporting characters in the first three books. Lucy is by far the reader favorite of all characters in the More series.

2) Do you have a favorite character in the More Series?

Nope. No fave. I can't choose. :(

3) I love reading about drunk Lucy.  Is her character based on anyone?

I think her character is kind of based on what every girl wishes they could get away with.

4) Will Dylan and Heidi get a book?

Hmmm... maybe.

5) Will angry Dylan make an appearance?

I hope so. Angry Dylan is a fox.

6) What inspires you to write?

My readers. Always my readers.

7) Do you have a favorite spot to write?

In bed. It's where I write the majority of all my books. It's more comfortable when I have to shut down the laptop and cry!

8) Do you listen to music while you write?

Yes. My spotify is always on.

9) What upcoming works do you have?

I have a novella called Confessions, and also Combative. I'm wanting to write two more books in the More Series and also want to start another one soon. Also, The Road is coming out in December. =)
