About Lisa Hobman:

Books recommended for ages 17+ due to some mature content

Back in 2014 I had the huge honour of being shortlisted in the Romantic Novelists Association, Romance Novel of the Year - Contemporary Romance Category (RoNA), for my debut novel Bridge Over the Atlantic. This book was re-published in 2017 when I signed a four book deal with Aria Fiction. The new title is A Seaside Escape and the new version has been very well received.

I'm a happily married mum of one with two energetic dogs who make cameo appearances in some of my books. I love writing and creating new characters and now have the pleasure of writing almost full time.

In 2012 my family and I relocated from England to our favourite place in the world, Scotland, and we are now happily ensconced in village life. The stunning location was the inspiration for my writing career and so it's only right that it features in all of my books.

Writing has always been something I've enjoyed, although in the past it has centered on poetry and song lyrics; some of which appear in my stories. But to now be a published author is a real dream come true.

I'm loving being signed to UK publisher Aria Fiction - an imprint of award winning Head of Zeus and I have many more books in the pipeline! You can follow me over at Facebook.

Interview With  Lisa Hobman:

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?

My books are mainly contemporary romance and are set in Scotland. I choose the settings based on wonderful places I've visited and fallen in love with from Edinburgh to the Scottish Highlands. I write quite down to earth characters too, with everyday jobs but I like to give them lots of depth and great backstories.

2. What inspires you to write?

It can be a song I hear that sparks an idea, or a conversation, or simply a pretty view. It can happy at any time of day or night too!

3. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I've written sixteen books so far. It's hard to choose a favourite as it changes regularly. Although my favourite overall is probably A Seaside Escape as it was my first. It was originally published as Bride Over the Atlantic but was taken on by my current publisher, Aria Fiction and re-released. The characters in this book are very special to me.

4. How do you come up with your characters names?

They usually come to me ready made with their stories, which sounds odd but it's true in most cases. It's almost like they appear in my head fully formed. Very bizarre!

5. If  you could spend 24 hours as a fictional character, who would you chose?

If it was to be one of my own characters I think it would have to be Zara in A Summer of New Beginnings. I would love her job!

6. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?

I tend to write when the inspiration takes me and that can be any time of day. I don't try to force it as I find I end up deleting most of what I write if I do things that way. So my writing days aren't really that structured!

7.  Do you have a release day tradition?

I like to celebrate with a nice glass of fizz. And I go out with my family the weekend following a release usually to celebrate. I usually get flowers from my publisher which is so lovely too.

8. What  writing projects are you currently working on?

My current work in progress is hopefully going to be a three book series but I'm sworn to secrecy just now. My new release, however is out on February 19th! Yay!
