An Ordinary Me
From the outside looking in Garrison Davis seems like every other senior
in high school. On the inside though, he’s an emotional wreck promising
to not love anyone. He chooses to protect himself by vowing solitude.
His dad is in prison for dealing drugs; his mother is a recovering
addict and an emotional mess. The only thing that brings him joy is
playing the drums and that feeling of being needed by his band. It is
his escape, his passion. No one gets hurt or disappointed. That is
until he lays his eyes on Reese at school. She is the exact example of
what he cannot let himself get involved in. He would do nothing but drag
her down with him.
“I want to tell her and show her how much I love her. I had loved her from the first time I saw her smile but I can’t, I won’t. She deserves so much more than I can offer. I’m the spawn of a drug dealer and an addict. I have never let myself love another person and now… I love her so much it hurts.”
Reese Owens is the exact opposite of Garrison. Inside she’s beaming; growing up in a happy home and on the outside she was a duck out of water. Her parents are the over protective set but are finally loosening the jail bars. Sophomore year in high school, she has never dated a boy and is envious of the social life her best friend Autumn Welch has. She meets Garrison and is instantly attracted to him. He pulls away when she pushes in. A whole new world opens up to Reese and she finds herself falling into situations she can’t get herself out of. Making bad decision after bad decision, she finds out the hard way on how life is full of choices. The one thing she wants more than anything is Garrison’s attention which she doesn’t get in return.
“How is it possible to love someone and keep it quiet? Never to utter those very words knowing he doesn’t feel the same way. I finally fall in love and he only wants to be friends. I am a Texas girl, mother of 2 amazing kiddos and married to my gorgeous soulmate for almost 20 years. I have a full time job in the medical field but hope one day to strictly write. 1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
My
first three books are in a series called Forever Series. Eternal
Soulmate, Endless Affinity and Unforeseen Destiny. They are included in
book set that will be on sale starting July 20th. Each book in that series can be read as stand alone as
they have HEA, each covering one of the three girls. Ashlynn, Grace and
McKoy. They weave in and out of all books. Beau is a novella off
Forever Series. An Ordinary Me is a YA, the story of Garrison and Reese.
Marital Blissaster
is the story of Callie, Blake, Madison and Hudson. It talks about two
different marriages and how things can go right or very wrong.
Real life. All my books come from real life experience.
3. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
January 2014. I started as therapy after my mother's death and it took off. I self published my first book in April 2014.
4. Do you ever experience writer’s block?
YES! Every writer does! I have to sometimes step back. What helps? Cleaning and brainstorming with my husband. Bouncing ideas off him.
5. Do you work with an outline, or just write?
Both. Depends on how the ideas are going. Outlining helps when I have so many ideas and they are all flowing out at once.
6. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
In silence, or with my playlist for writing in the country with no distraction.
7. What do you do when you are not writing?
Be with my family. Outside as much as possible. I like to read too but do not get to do it was much. I will not read if I am writing and I am writing so much so....
8. What was the last book you read?

9. What writing projects are you currently working on?
Im working on a novella to An Ordinary Me called An Extraordinary Us. Then I have NA in the works. Two new YAs will follow that. Super excited about them all.
