 Chrysalis: The Emergence of Emery

The Gifted Series #1

Emery never realized the kind of power she held.

Her whole life had been one long battle. Against other children, bullies, her abusers. Forever the outsider, living her days isolated and lonely. She didn't know that while waging her own battles, another kind of war was coming.

In just one night her whole life changed.

When she finds herself in danger, the power that was lying dormant inside of her suddenly releases, surprising everyone.

In the aftermath, a figure appears in the shadows – Elijah. With an air of mysteriousness and answers she had no idea she needed, Emery suddenly understands she’s not alone.

He's either here to save her or bury her. But with no time to ask questions, she takes the plunge, grabs his hand, and prepares herself for a whole new world. One where she will be reborn.

Reverence - The Evolution of Emery

The Gifted Series #2

Emery knows who she is now, and what she has to do.
She must beat the darkness, right?
But what if the darkness is actually her light.
Just as life begins to make sense again the world around her changes once more, making her question everything.
Emery’s beginning to realize she’s only scratched the surface, and the dig down will require more strength than she ever imagined.
The danger—she may uncover something she’s not prepared for.
Sometimes you have to sacrifice to win.

I must fight to save her—Kade
I have to survive so I can save him—Emery

Ascendance - Emery's Equilibrium

Emery lost everything—her Pith, her love, her world.
Life is changing quickly, and evil is growing stronger every day.
Can she alone be the savior of all existence, when her sole driving force is pure revenge?

Emery

I never thought I would find an ally in Iric. I never thought I could carry on without Kade. I guess things change.
I don’t know who to trust anymore.
My life hangs in the balance, and I don’t care. My gut has led me through every experience so far, maybe I need to trust it one more time.
Doing this alone wasn’t something I planned. But I walked away from my family, and now I must decide whether to disappear for good.

The beginning was love, the middle pain, I don’t know what the future will bring. But I do know I’ll follow my path and see where it leads me.

In the Darkness, I will prove I’m the Light.

Even if it kills me.

Interview with Maria Macdonald

   1.     Can you tell us a little about your books?

Well, I write different genre’s but they all have Romance at the core. Currently I have YA PNR, Romantic Suspense, New Adult, M/M and Contemporary.
I have ugly cry books and ones which are darker than others, some have sex, others don’t. Apart from the romance, I don’t think I stick to a specific theme or trope.

   2.     You write more than one genre, how do you balance them?

I think because romance is the key, I don’t have to worry too much about the balance, everything else is just a part of the story and I wouldn’t be able to stick to one lane no more than I can with reading J

   3.     How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I have 13 books out currently, although I am pulling a series soon so I can rework them, so then I’ll have 9.
I also have 4 books out in French.
I have been part of 3 or 4 anthologies, however, they are now books which are unavailable.

   4.     Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?

I work full time and have to feed the kids (at some point) so writing is a luxury and also why after more than 5yrs publishing, I only have 13 books out! I usually write on a Saturday, if I’m up against a deadline I may do something in the evenings or Sundays, but Saturday is mostly my day.

   5.     Do you have a favorite food or drink you must have nearby when writing?

I actually used to have Skittles scattered on my laptop and would randomly pick them up and eat them as I was typing, however, the Skittles I liked (berry flavoured) are not available here in the UK anymore (well not in my local shops) so now I only have my bottle of water L

    6.     Do you have a release day tradition?

I actually don’t. Most of my release days I have been working (my other job) and so I don’t get to fully enjoy them. Maybe I should treat myself!

   7.     If your fairy godmother waved her wand and whisked you away to the location of your choice, which place would you choose?

Japan. I’ve always wanted to go. It’s both rich in culture and technology. The history is phenomenal and you can travel from the beach to the snow covered mountains on the Bullet Train, plus I want to see the Cherry Blossoms.

8. What writing projects are you currently working on?

Currently I’m writing a novella which linked into the With Me in Seattle series by Kristen Proby. Next is a book I’m writing for Penelope Ward and Vi Keelands Cocky world. I also have a YA PNR book which I am co-writing with author Anna Edwards. It’s about a Witch and it’s available for pre-order on Amazon.
I always have at least 3 other books to keep me busy and aside from the ones above, I have a few to choose from when those are complete J
