Something That Could Last
Release date: May 9, 2019
About the book
Life of luxury.
Prestigious family.
Privileged upbringing.
My life sounds like a dream, but it comes at a price.
As the eldest son of an affluent family— and one of D.C.’s most powerful players— I have little control over my destiny and a stack of expectations I’ll never be able to meet.
Longing for a reprieve, I escape to a little mountain town in West Virginia with my best friend to kick off summer break. I plan to lose myself in the outdoors, forgetting all about the pressures and obligations back home. Turns out, a petite waitress with killer legs and a heart of gold is all the distraction I need.
Abby Harris is a game changer and my complete opposite in nearly every way. I only have two weeks with her, and in the beginning, that seemed like enough. But as our time dwindles, I start to fall faster and faster, like grains of sand slipping through the neck of an hourglass.
But I’m not the only one under her spell.
When a scorned admirer resurfaces to exact his revenge, It’s up to me to keep her from falling into his clutches. I have only seconds to act before her fate is sealed and if I fail, I risk losing her forever.

Interview With Ashley Cade:
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
I write new adult and contemporary romance. My books are steamy and a little angsty, but full of heart with a little humor sprinkled in here and there.
2. What inspires you to write?
I find inspiration pretty much anywhere. Anything can spark something inside my brain and I start dreaming up characters and stories. I’ve found a lot of inspiration in music and places I’ve traveled to or seen pictures of.
3. How do you come up with your characters' names?
Sometimes it’s just the first name that pops into my head when I envision that character. Sometimes I have to go through a few before something sticks, but I try to go with a name that is common among people in the same age range. I try to avoid using the names of people who are close to me or even those I went to school with, especially if they’re jerks. LOL
4. If you could be friends with one of your characters, which one would you choose?
Probably Abby from the Wild Hearts Series. She was the first character I began dreaming up when I decided to start writing. She started this journey with her persistence and need to be heard. I just had to tell her story. Plus she’s very grounded and mature and would probably help keep me in.
5. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?
There is no structure at all when it comes to my writing 😂😂. My life is pretty chaotic between work and kids so I just have to write anytime I get a free moment. Sometimes I’m writing on my lunch break at work. Sometimes in the car while my husband is driving. I’ve become pretty flexible in that respect.
6. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
When the weather is nice, I love to write outside on my front porch. I’m convinced that sunshine makes me more creative.
7. If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I would like to have healing powers. Maybe that’s the nurse in me or the mom, but I would find it very useful.
8. What writing projects are you currently working on?
I am currently working on a book for the Salvation Society Series. This series will include books by several authors and will be written within the Salvation Series world. I’m also planning for the third book in my Wild Hearts Series.
