Interview With Sarah King:

  1. Can you tell us a little about your book?

I currently have three standalone titles available. The first book I wrote was Blue Twilight. It is a sweet contemporary romance with a country music theme. Music is a huge inspiration in my writing process, so it was a lot of fun to add a musical twist to one of my books.

Meant To Be Mine is another contemporary romance. It has a friends to lovers theme and is definitely suited for the 18+ crowd. This was a fun book to write for me as I love the characters of Callie and Ben. I actually also wrote a second epilogue for this book that is available on my website.

Waking Up in Vegas is my third romance (also suited for 18+). This book has an
enemies to lovers theme and is one of my favorite books to date. Andrew is not your
typical alpha male and I think that’s why so many people are drawn to his character.
and Kiera with all her Vegas shenanigans just adds to the fun.

  1. When did you know you wanted to write a book?

I’ve been writing stories since I was eight years old. Of course, back then, it was all
about a parrot detective solving crimes. By the time I reached High School, I wanted
to write young adult novels. And then I discovered Nora Roberts…the rest is history.

  1. Which of your characters would you like to meet in person and why?

I don’t think I could pick just one! I’d love to have Jake sing a song for me (Blue Twilight)
I’d love to spend a day hanging out with Callie (Meant To Be Mine) and maybe, if I was feeling wild, I’d hit Vegas with Keira (Waking Up in Vegas)

  1. For a reader who hasn't read your books yet, which book do you suggest they start with?

Well, they are all standalone books, so you could really start anywhere. If you like a
sweet romance, I’d recommend Blue Twilight. But if you wanted something with more
heat, check out Meant To Be Mine or Waking Up in Vegas.

  1. Do you have a favorite spot to write?

Somewhere where my kids can’t find me. LOL No, I can write pretty much anywhere.
As long as I’ve got my headphones in, the world just kind of fades away.

  1. What is a usual writing day like for you, how is it structured?

Structure, what’s that?! I think I’m anti-structure (is that a word? Authors can make up
words, right?). If an idea pops in to my head, I’ll jot it down or type it into my phone.
Unless I’m under a deadline, I don’t give myself goals or certain word counts I have to
meet. It puts way too much pressure on me and it takes the love out of writing.

  1. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

The power to heal! Not only would I use my powers for good, but I’d also be able to cure
my babies (they may be 7 and 10, but I will always refer to them as my babies) when
they get sick. Plus, it would come in handy seeing as I’ve been battling vertigo since
April. Imagine typing and reading while you’re dizzy…not fun.

  1. What are writing projects are you currently working on?

I’m really excited about my upcoming work! I have a New Adult series coming out this
Fall. It’s going to deal with a subject that is near and dear to me. Each book will feature
a different couple, so they can be read as standalones, but parts of the story will overlap
in each book. I’ve also got another standalone romance in the works. It’s another
friends to lovers theme, but it’s got a very big emotional twist.
