INVICTUS Volume One: FUBAR & Fur Rugs and Steel Balls & Stilettos

They were the most elite, totally dark, special operations team. On. The. Planet. Officially, Wraith team did not exist in any known database. Unofficially, the team of badass SEALs were the ghosts who handled the missions that official spec ops teams couldn't touch, and didn't want to. Until they were betrayed by the covert CIA unit controlling them.

When the enemy changed the rules of engagement and went after their women, the newly decommissioned SEAL team perceived it as a declaration of war. In retaliation, they formed their own private security agency. INVICTUS Security had one mission objective: To destroy the Illuminati, the secret cabal behind the CIA unit.

Against all odds. At any cost.

Failure was not an option.

FUBAR & Fur Rugs

Navy SEAL team leader Lieutenant Jacob Asher 'Ice' Pierce knew firsthand how deceitful and treacherous women could be. He was not interested in hooking up with a woman so desperate that she sent emails to a man she had never even met. At least he hadn't been until he actually read them. After that he couldn't wait to meet her.

And make love to her on a fur rug in front of a fire.

Catherine 'Cat Lady' Barker was not looking for romance when she signed up for the Adopt A Soldier program. She already knew what it was like to love a military man, so the last thing she intended was to get involved with a SEAL. But Ashe was everything she wanted in a man, so falling in love with him was the easy part.

Everything that happened after that was a total FUBAR!

Steel Balls & Stilettos

Navy SEAL Chaz 'Steel' Carrington was planning his most important mission ever. Winning the heart of the woman he loved. His roommate was as necessary to his survival as the air he breathed, and he'll stop at nothing to make her his. When a stalker does everything he can to drive a wedge between them, Chaz has no choice except to confess his sins.

Faith once shattered can never be restored.

ER Trauma Doctor, Jenna 'Stilettos' McBride had been head over high heels in love with her roommate for most of her life. Unfortunately, he persisted in treating her like his best friend. Fed up with their complicated relationship, she's determined to lay her heart on the line. Then the date from hell reveals that the man she loves is guilty of the ultimate betrayal.

He'll need balls of steel to get her back.

About Tonya Brooks:

Having written her first romance novel at sixteen, Tonya followed a lifelong dream and became a published author. Her first series, The Bad Baker Boys, is set in the small Southern town of Lakeside, SC and the supporting characters were so well loved that she began the Welcome To Lakeside series just for them.
She also has a romantic Comedy series, I Boinked The Boss, which will leave you laughing out loud. Her latest series, INVICTUS Security is about a former Navy SEAL team who open their own private security agency and go to war after the enemy targeted their women. Lots of action, drama, and of course, humor.
"It's all smoke and mirrors (aka unexpected plot twists and turns) till The End," Tonya warns potential readers. Every book has a Happily Ever After ending, but the characters have recurring roles in each series. Her alpha males are as hot as a sultry Southern summer night, and the females have as much sass as sex appeal. When they meet, passions ignite and sparks fly.
She lives in Myrtle Beach, SC with her very own bad boy husband of 34 years. Tonya also has two adult sons who absolutely refuse to read her books because, "Mom's aren't supposed to know about sex, much less write about it." With a wicked smile, she laughingly reminds them that they were not conceived by immaculate conception.

Interview With Tonya Brooks:
  1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
I write romantic comedy, contemporary romance and military romance. The one thing they all have in common is humor. You're going to laugh, just not when you expect it. All of my male characters are strong alpha, take no shit, bad boys. The females are smart, sassy and filled with snark, so yeah, expect plenty of fireworks when they meet. As to the rest, it's all smoke and mirrors (aka unexpected plot twists and turns) till The End.
  1. What inspires you to write?
Music is my biggest inspiration (other than my beloved husband, of course). I can listen to a song and one line of the lyrics will resonate with me. The next thing you know I've written an entire chapter from that one line.
  1. Do you have a favorite character to write about?
Jed Baker, the patriarch of the Bad Baker Boys. He's grouchy and irascible yet he has a heart of pure gold. He made such an impact on my readers that they demanded he get his own book. I'm procrastinating finishing it because it will be the end of the series and I don't want to let them go.
  1. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
My office. We bought a house last year because it had a fully customized home office. The room turned out to be dark, gloomy and depressing, so I moved into the sunroom. It's bright and airy with a view of the pond and I just love it.
  1. Do you listen to music while you write?
Yes! Every book I write has its own Spotify playlist that I play on a loop. The songs on the playlist go along with the plot line from beginning to end so you know exactly what the character is experiencing just by listening.
  1. For a reader who hasn't read your books yet, which book do you suggest they start with?
The Bad Baker Boys Sampler Set contains the first few chapters of each book in the series and it's always free!
  1. If  you could spend 24 hours as a fictional character, who would you chose?
Harley Abbot Baker from Desire Had A Name. The proper response is because I strongly identify with her character. The completely improper (which I am) response is because I'd get to spend 24 hours with Matt Baker and holy moley that man is hot!
  1. Are you attending any Author Signing Event this year?
Since I'm currently enslaved at the evil day job, I don't have anything planned, but I'm hoping to attend some events later on in the year.
  1. What are writing projects are you currently working on?
Right now I'm working on Volume Two of the INVICTUS Series. It contains two novellas, Romance Novels & RPGs and Shit Kickers & Satin Sheets. All of the books in the series are stand alone, but there is a continuing plot line that traverses each book and connects them into one all encompassing story.
