Fallen Angel, Part II (Fallen Angel #2)

by
When Brooke Stiles had said, “It was in a small room in an office block in Washington, DC, that my life changed, forever,” she had no idea of the enormity of that statement.

Just a few short months ago, Brooke, had lived a quiet suburban life in the UK. She now owns a closet of clothes she could only dream about and has been swept off her feet by trouble with a capital T.

Once Robert Stone came to terms with the fact that he was in love with Brooke, he knew he could never let her go. Not letting her go means introducing her to his life, past and present.

However, when Robert’s past and present collide, Brooke does the one thing that Robert begs her not to. Does it change her? Has that light that he sees in her eyes been extinguished?

This is a story of an ordinary girl who finds the strength to become the extraordinary woman, and keeps her promise to the man she owes her existence to.

Fallen Angel, Part III (Fallen Angel #3)

INTERVIEW WITH TRACIE PODGER

Can you tell us a little about your books?

I write adult contemporary romance that I like to also call romantic thrillers. The Fallen Angel series features just a handful of characters. Robert Stone is a dark and dangerous man, the head of a powerful organisation. He is assisted by his brother in all but blood, Travis. I like to write about strong characters. Brooke is a woman from the UK who travels to Washington, DC to visit a friend when she meets the elusive Robert Stone. She finds herself falling in love and into a life she has only ever seen in a movie. My books are full of passion and danger, they are erotic in a tasteful way. Scenes are graphically described for no reason other than these are passionate people in all areas of their lives, that has to follow through to the bedroom.

Do you prefer to write standalone books or series?

A Virtual Affair (due for release September 2015) is a standalone, Fallen Angel is a series. I cant say I prefer one to the other. It really depends on whether I feel there is still more of the story to tell - and whether those characters will be content with their book ending and get out of my head.

What book was the first one you wrote?

A Virtual Affair was the first book I wrote and its a personal story, although fictional. I wrote it initially just for me as part of my therapy to overcome depression. I had no intention of releasing it. However, the writing bug took over and I continued to write other novels. Four years on and Im ready to release this one.

Which one of your characters has been your favorite to write about?

Oh, tricky question. Thats like asking which one of your children do you favour. Robert is a complex character and very dark. Travis is fun to write about because hes often moody. Evelyn is a wonderful character, so full of compassion and Brooke, well, I guess Brooke has a lot of me in her, she feels more personal. But could I choose just one? Probably not, I love writing about them and this series is going to break my heart when it comes to an end.

Do you have a favorite spot to write?

Currently, I sit at the dining room table which looks out onto my garden. Id love to say I have a wonderful, colourful garden but I dont. Right now its in need of a mow and a weeding. I will be moving into my new home office as soon as I get the time to actually order some furniture though. My publicist is coming from the US to stay for a few weeks soon, shell be accompanying me to some signings so Ive given myself a challenge - get the office sorted before Paula gets here!

Which ocean is your favorite to dive in?

Ive been so fortunate to have dived from many wonderful countries but if I had to choose I think the Indian Ocean. Ive visited Indonesia a few times and each time it just blows my mind. There are so many wonderful critters underwater, big and small. I have photographs of pigmy seahorses no bigger than the nail on your little finger and I have pictures of whalesharks that are metres long. For me there is something very soothing about being under water. Perhaps its because you hear the sound of yourself breathing and that, I find, is calming. The Red Sea is a great place to dive although sadly I see a change in the environment year on year and a decline in some of the wonderful fish that used to be commonplace.

Do you listen to music while you write?

No, I have to have silence - I fear I would start writing the lyrics if I had music playing around me.

When did you know you wanted to write a book?

I dont know that I ever had an epiphany moment, I think it was a more gradual realisation. I wrote to distract myself from my depression, I got lost in my story and my characters and during the process I healed. I also got addicted without knowing I had. The minute I finished A Virtual Affair I started Fallen Angel. Initially this wasnt to be a series but the first book was too large so was split and I found I just had so much more to say - the characters had more story to tell. So I kept writing.

What's one random fact about yourself that you can share?

I have a large scar on my right palm, I fell over as a child and into a pile of broken glass. Fortune tellers luck out with me, the scar goes straight through any lines!

What writing projects are you currently working on?

Im just about to finish Travis, a novel featuring one of the characters in the Fallen Angel series and then Ill start writing Fallen Angel, Part 4 (due for release June 2015).
