Interview with Ester Lopez

Interview with Ester Lopez

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
I write sci fi and paranormal adventure romance. I have two series at the moment. One is "The Vaedra Chronicles Series" which are the sci fi books. The other, "The Angel Chronicles" is a new series which I'm releasing this fall. I'm finishing up book one, which will be a giveaway to introduce the series, but I have book two completed and ready to publish. I consider this series to be paranormal, but my editor suggested they are also inspirational.

2. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I have four books out in "The Vaedra Chronicles Series," but book four is the companion/background book to my world. In the "Angel Chronicles," I will have two books out by October. The way I'm going, book two will be out before book one! I think my favorite one is book one, "The Abduction" because it took a long time to write (learning the process, writing the book, and learning about the publishing world, and marketing)

3. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?
I wish I had a special time to write. Right now, it's whenever I get a few minutes to myself, I'll sit and work on my story. Sometimes, I go days or weeks between writing and then, Bam! I may write for
several days straight.

4.  How do you come up with your characters names?
I get character names from names I've heard or a name that has an unusual meaning. I try for different names, but every time I think I've created a new name, I hear that name somewhere else.  Mostly, I use the "Character-Naming Sourcebook" by Sherrilyn Kenyon with Hal Blythe and Charlie Sweet from the Writer's Digest.

5. Do you have a release day tradition?
I don't have a release day tradition but I'm open to ideas. I guess I haven't done one as a special event. Any suggestions for my new series?

6. If you could be friends with one of your character, which one would you chose?
I think I'd like to be friends with Keely McGuire. She's a Secret Service Agent charged with helping a couple aliens find their landing party.

7. If your fairy godmother waved her wand and whisked you away to the location of your choice, which place would you choose?
I think I'd like to be whisked away to the Vaedra system, on a beach on planet Atria.

8. What  writing projects are you currently working on?
I'm feverishly trying to finish "The Quest," book one in the "Angel Chronicles" series, but I've gotten ideas for book five in "The Vaedra Chronicles Series" which I'm tentatively calling, "Aftermath."
It's really the fourth book in the series, if I don't count the companion book. (The companion book is a FREE download on my website...www.esterlopez.com). Also, I will have a children's book out
next year called "The Adventures of Charlie and Ellie."  It's about the adventures my two dogs have had over the years.
