Interview With Lindsay Marie Miller:
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
At the heart of every novel I write is a love story. I tend to bounce back and forth between Contemporary Romance and Romantic Suspense, but the romance itself is always key. I'm seven books in now, and every time I cannot wait for that spark of chemistry between the main characters. S.I.N.G.L.E. (Still In Need of a Good Loving Equivalent) and An Arrangement are the books I am most proud of, because those love stories came out of nowhere and demanded to be told.

2. What is the last book that you have published?
Island Smile. It is the 2nd installment in the Jungle Eyes Trilogy and releases October 11th. I like to describe the Jungle Eyes books as The Blue Lagoon meets Pirates of the Caribbean because that is the closet comparison I can draw. In Jungle Eyes (Book 1), two New Yorkers (Henry Rochester and Elaine Carmichael) fall in love while stranded together on a tropical deserted island in the year 1899. After ending Jungle Eyes with such a cliffhanger, I knew that I would need to kick things up a notch in the sequel. So Henry and Elaine are headed back to the island, only this time they are not alone.

3. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
When I was 16. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer inspired me to write a YA Romantic Thriller while I was in high school, because I loved the idea of losing yourself in another world. Seven years later that story became my debut novel, Emerald Green. While English Literature was always my favorite subject in school, it really does all go back to Twilight. So I have to thank Stephenie Meyer... and Bella and Edward of course : )

4. When you write do you write the first draft on a computer or paper and pen?
I prefer to write by hand with paper and pen. It is the most natural to me, and I enjoy the flow and process more with an actual pen in my hand. But lately I have been sticking to the computer, because it just saves so much more time. I still handwrite every now and then, but I try to write as much of it on the computer as I possibly can.

5. Do you have a favorite food or drink you must have nearby when writing?
I'm a health nut, so the only thing I usually drink while writing is water. But after a several thousand word writing sprint, I am known to indulge in some chips and salsa. After cranking so many words out, it is like the reward at the end of the finish line after a really long day.

6. If you could spend 24 hours as a fictional character, who would you chose?
Cinderella, but not for the reason everyone probably thinks. Even if she is the heroine of a fairytale, Cinderella overcomes adversity at every turn without seeking sorrow or revenge. The death of her mother and then father. A wicked stepmother and two equally wicked stepsisters to boot. Drab living conditions in a rusty old attic with no one but the birds and mice for friends. Despite every bad outcome tossed her way, Cinderella remains gracious and kind. She never stoops to her stepmother's level or becomes a miserable, mean person like most would. Instead, the bad things make her stronger until she is strong enough to rise above them. Yes, you could argue that the rich, royal, elegantly handsome Prince Charming whisks her away on his white horse. But I have always thought that he was a metaphor for something else. When you don't let negative forces stop you, eventually they just go away.

7. What writing projects are you currently working on?
Well, I just wrapped up the third and final book in the Jungle Eyes Trilogy called Coastal Spirit. It is set to release on October 18, 2016. I am planning out a couple of secret projects right now, so I can't say anything about those just yet. But I do plan to continue The Emerald Green Series in the Spring of 2017. There are 3 books left, and I feel bad for leaving the main characters, Tom and Addie hanging for so long. I've been dabbling in other writing projects for a while, so it will be nice to return to the love story that started it all.
