Mercy F*uck by K.S. Adkins
You've seen the title of this book and now you're curious, I get it.
I totally do.
Mercy F*uck isn't a title that inspires smiles and you'd be right.
Let
me start by saying his name was Axle Rhodes and everything about him,
including his love for Metallica, made you want to offer yourself up as a
sacrifice.
And believe me, I did.
My heart and v-card were his
for the conquering, and because he had a pulse, twenty-four-seven
erection and empty bed, he took it.
It was love, it was fate, it was our happily ever after.
Right?
Wrong.
It was bullshit.
For Axle it wasn't any of those things.
I
know this to be true because while planning our wedding while still
naked in said bed, I had the misfortune of hearing him utter the two
words that described what he really thought of me.
Now don't go
feeling sorry for me, okay? I learned a valuable lesson about the
opposite sex that day and am all the better for it.
To Axle, I was a Mercy F*uck this is true. But, every man I would meet after him would become mine.
My name is Drew, by the way, and nine years and a lot of practice later, I like to think of myself as the 'Mercy F*uck Master'.
Trust me, it was title I earned and was seriously proud of too.
Well at least I was, until the Mercy F*ucker came back.
8 Mile & Rion
Few call me Rion, but you can call me Junior.
Life was easy here on 8 Mile until the day I was told to leave Detroit.
When
my dad died, the life I built at his request ended and I stepped back
into the world I was born to live in—taking bets and when necessary,
collecting on them by force.
I was raised in a man’s world, a world that embraced me, that I understood. Or so I thought.
One collection gone wrong was all it took to change the course of my life forever.
A homeless, bitter ex-Marine squatting in the property I was taking back changed everything.
Loyal
Hart was hiding from the ghosts of war. He never wanted to be found,
but I wasn't raised to leave a man behind. Despite his nasty words and
dirty looks, I knew a good man when I saw one. This angry man had the
edge I needed to get results in my line of work, so I hired him. He
proved to be more damaged than I ever thought possible, and too soon I
realized that I couldn’t live without him.
Loyal found it easier
to battle his feelings for me than he did his own demons. Though he
kept me safe, even putting his body at risk in the process, he fought
even harder to keep me at arm’s length. When true danger came, I saw
what he was really made of, and why he lied to keep himself a secret.
A smart bookie always knows her odds.
So I took the risk and bet it all on the man who wouldn't even bet on himself.

1.Can you tell us a little about your books?
All of my books (while fiction) feature alpha females as the lead character. The women I write about are each facets of my best friends and myself. The antics (non-criminal) are actually true. All fight scenes are tested out by me personally and every story is based in my city. Detroit. While I write romantic-suspense (mostly), I strive for humor and blowing things up often. I adore bad ass women doing bad ass things.
2. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I
never even considered it until I was teaching my daughter how to drive
and found ourselves in a high speed car chase. Thus, Brutal was born.
I'm the anti-writer-writer. I do it to cleanse my dark soul and
hopefully make a few people laugh (or cringe). My writing style isn't
for everyone, especially readers who like a set style of romance. Now I
write so much I can't imagine not writing. When life prevents me from
writing I get punchy.
3. Do you work with an outline, or just write?
I just write. I usually start with the ending and work my way back.
4. Do you have a favorite food or drink you must have nearby when writing?
White wine and cigarettes
5. Do you listen to music while you write?
Eminem, on repeat, always.
6. If you could spend 24 hours as a fictional character, who would you chose?
I would choose Drew from Mercy F*ck
I would choose Drew from Mercy F*ck
7. For a reader who hasn't read your books yet, which book do you suggest they start with?
8 Mile & Rion
8. What are writing projects are you currently working on?
How much time do I have? Okay, my current project is titled 'Juggernaut' and its a rom-com that is years in the making. Basically I've saved all the one liners and bad decisions my pals and I have made over time and decided to write a book...about us. While we aren't the characters per say; the antics are us, the dialogue is us and I am writing it to read like a movie. It's funny, foul and yes, has a love story. Sadly, no one dies in this one. At least not yet.
