Genre: New Adult
Release Date: September 21, 2016
Some people call it puppy love,
But I know the truth.
Even though we were kids, too young to know better,
I was absolutely head-over-heels in love with Cody Jamison.
There wasn’t a moment in my life that he wasn’t a part of.
There wasn’t a part of me that didn’t belong to him.
And just as I was about to tell him…
Shattering my heart into pieces.
But now, he’s back.
Just like that.
But, we’re no longer those bright-eyed little kids we once were.
He just re-emerged,
Claiming a spot as the lead guitarist in my brother’s band,
As if nothing ever changed.
But it did.
Everything's different now.
And I won't let this asshole strum his way back in,
Reclaiming my heart,
Not without an explanation.
He’s going to have to work for it,
Cody Jamison can’t have me,
Until I have the truth.
Review by Gia:
Jamison was a good read with some surprises. The story starts out in the past, I really liked that part. We get to see Shannon, Ambrose (Dean), and Cody (CJ) as kids. Shannon and Ambrose are brother and sister. CJ is friends with Ambrose but he also has a connection with Shannon. CJ has to move quickly and doesn't keep in touch with his friends. Eleven years later CJ shows up back in town and joins Ambrose's band. I loved that Ambrose just took CJ back as his best friend with no tough questions asked. It really showed how deep their friendship went. Shannon on the other hand doesn't welcome CJ back as easy as her brother did.
CJ is sexy and a little bit of a ladies man. His band is starting to get noticed and he's becoming a big rock star. I didn't always like what CJ did, at times he had me frustrated with his actions. He has some surprising secrets. Shannon has always had a crush on CJ. CJ puts her through a roller coaster of emotions.
It's a good read that has some twists and surprising turns. I do hope we get more of these characters.
