The Predator Part One
I spent mostofmy life a disappointment, unwanted, and unloved. That is how I knew life to be until a low whistle pulled everything I knew upside down and inside out.
Chamberlain Lawrence was a man any woman would dream of. Or so I thought. I fell for him hard and fast. I thought what we had was real and could last a lifetime.
I should have paid closer attention to the signs around me. Chamberlain was too handsome, too charming, and too perfect to ever really want something like foreverwith a girl like me. Just as fast as I feel for him, I burned up faster. I'm left alone in this life again with a broken heart, but a strong will to survive on my own.
No one ever said a Predator could love.

Interview With Brooke May:

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
When I first started writing, I wanted to focus on cowboy romances. I wanted to give a different view on cowboys and the lifestyle. I was tired of overly romanticized cowboys and the women they loved. My books have strong female characters because living as a rancher, cowgirl, or whatever you want to say about a country girl is a tough life. My Cowboy books; My Cowboy, Faith in My Cowboy, and Loved by My Cowboy are filled with strong women and the strong silent men they love. But I don't want to be just known as a cowboy romance author. I'm branching out to other books as well.

2. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I always had the desire to write. I used to write fanfictions, all which were pretty popular. I was on maternity leave with my youngest when it hit me. I was folding clothes and putting them away when I looked up to the poem I wrote in high school that now hangs in my sons' room. It is titled "Someday" and it is about a bull rider. From there I decided no time like the present to make one of my dreams come true. No one else will do it for me. So while taking care of my tiny baby during an insanely cold winter, I wrote My Cowboy, followed by My Cowboy's Strength retitled to Faith in My Cowboy, and My Cowboy's Heart retitled to Loved by My Cowboy.

3. Do you ever experience writer’s block? What do you do to overcome it?
Often. I'm actually just getting over writer's block. I took some time just to develop some stories I had floating around in my head and then started to focus on one of them. I will admit, I couldn't decide what to write next. Some of my friends helped me pick which one to focus on.

4. Do you work with an outline, or just write?
My Cowboy wasn't outlined, but I found if I did outline I could make more of the story. I wish now I would have done it to begin with. Now, all my stories have outlines. Sometimes I get off course with them, but it still turns out how I like it to.

5. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
I can pretty much write anywhere, but if I could have it my way. It would be somewhere kid, husband, and phone free. I live by the Bighorn Mountains and often go up to spend the weekends in the summer. I love writing in nature.

6. Do you have a favorite food or drink you must have nearby when writing?
I always have water with me. I drink a gallon a day and it keeps me from snacking. I don't have anything else I "need". I usually eat lunch while I'm writing, naptime.

7. Do you listen to music while you write?
Yes, it depends on what I'm writing. With Loved by My Cowboy, I wrote while listening to country. My current WIP is a mix of pop, rock, and country.

8. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
The ability to control time. I would love to freeze it to get more out of the day. I never feel like I have time to get anything done.

9. What are writing projects are you currently working on?
I'm getting ready to publish Loved by My Cowboy. I'm done with that series. I already have my next two books written. And now I'm working on a novella for that series. The first book is coming out later this year. It is called The Predator Part One.
