Tess (Louise, # 2.5)
I had been a rebel as long as I could remember. Following the rules had never been my major. But breaking the rules of Le Papillon meant saying good-bye to my life. No flirting, no secret affairs, just dancing.
I lived as if in a dollhouse, where everything was decided for me. Even my name – I had to change it for the sake of my new life that didn't promise anything but an everlasting obedience.
No one cared about what I wanted. Clients were kings; only their wishes mattered. All I was allowed to do was to please them with my show and make them fork out for a private dance.
Was there a way out of this prison? I had no idea. I went against my heart and pretended to be a good girl. Why? Because I wanted to live. And love, maybe…
Illusive
Hearts don't beat forever. And neither did mine.
The day I woke up with a donor's heart beating in my chest, everything changed.
I felt like I wasn't being myself anymore, more like I was forced to live the life of someone else.
Even my dreams – they were not mine. I closed my eyes and saw the places and people I never knew. I woke up with the feeling of déjà vu and didn't know if that was just a game of my imagination or I was losing my mind.
Getting a new job at the Bowen's complicated all of the above. They were strangers to me, but somehow, I felt like I knew them my whole life…
"I thought I knew love, but I was wrong. Before you, it was just an illusion…"

Interview With Diana Nixon:
1. Can you tell us a
little about your books?
- I write romance novels, contemporary and paranormal.
My writing career started with a fantasy novel, titled Love Lines. It was a
whole series of books that combined magic, super powers and love. Later, I
focused on creating contemporary romances. In each and every one of them I try
to discuss various aspects of relationships. I think the main thing about
creating a good story is making it memorable, and I truly hope mine are
memorable :) Some of my books are romantic comedies, others – dramas. So I’m
sure everyone will find something to read and enjoy :)
2. When did you know
you wanted to write a book?
- I’ve been
writing for almost 9 years now. My love for books started when I was a
university graduate. It was the era of Harry Potter and Twilight. I read mostly
fantasy stories. I liked the surreal in them. Maybe that’s why my very first
book turned out to be one of them too :)
3. How many books
have you written? Which is your favorite?
- I’ve written 24
books. And I like all of them :) Every time I create a new story, I fall in
love with my characters and I feel a bit sad when it’s time to say good-bye to
them. Right now, my absolutely favorite story is ILLUSIVE. It was released in
March. It’s a story of a young woman who lives with a heart transplant. She doesn’t
remember anything from the first five years of her life and the day she wakes
up with a new heart beating in her chest, her mind begins to take her back to
the days that she can’t remember. She meets people who make her memories
return, and her life changes completely. Illusive is a very touching and
emotional story. To be honest, I cried many times when I was working on it :) I
hope my readers can feel the whole range of emotions that my characters go
through in this book.
4.
How do you come up with your characters names?
- Oh, it’s a long process. I
can spend days scrolling down the list of possible names, until one of them
stays in my head long enough to become a part of a new story. Sometimes I look
for the names that have a special meaning, if it’s important for the story.
5. Do you have a
release day tradition?
- Release days are ALWAYS nervous :) Every time I wake
up knowing that my new book is about to go live I feel like I’m lacking of air
:) I spend the entire day talking to my readers about the new story, posting
teasers, etc. And a glass of wine in the evening is a must, LOL.
6. For someone who hasn't read any of you books yet,
which one would you suggest they read first?
- Shattered Series, Louise, Illusive or TESS – my HOT
NEW RELEASE that also happened to become a USA TODAY Bestseller :)
7. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
- Kitchen :) I always write in the mornings. So right after I have my first
cup of coffee, I open my laptop and start working on my new story. When it’s
warm outside, I like writing on the terrace as well.
8. If you could spend 24 hours as a fictional
character, who would you chose?
- It’s a hard question… I think I’d like to be myself,
but watch a movie based on one of my books instead :)
9. What writing projects are you currently working on?
- I started writing a new series of books – BACHELORS ON SALE. The first
one is COLE. Every book from the series will tell a different love story, so
you will be able to read them as standalones. The title of the series speaks
for itself. Every book will begin with a Prologue written by Madison Hall – the
most popular Manhattan marriage broker. Her job is to gather information about
the most wanted bachelors. She knows all the secrets of those who don’t believe
in marriage or love and never want to lose their precious freedom. But the
better she knows the men who end up in her special list, the less chances they
have to stay bachelors forever.
