Review for Those Four Letter Words (Four Letters 0.5) and Jaded Little Lies (Four Letters #1) by Christina Channelle

Those Four Letter Words (Four Letters 0.5)

Eighteen-year-old Jade Reamer is a tough girl with a reputation to prove it. She loves three people and three people only: her brother, her boyfriend, and her best friend. Everyone else is irrelevant.

That is … until Reed enters the picture again.

Suddenly things start to spiral out of control and things aren’t as they seem. Life is no longer simply black and white, love versus hate. Suddenly, it’s hard to figure out which of those four letter words is true.

Especially when she can’t look away from those devil eyes.

I love you. I hate you. I love you. I hate you. Which is it? I don’t even know anymore.

Well, let’s find out.

This 15,000 word novella contains coarse language, angst-driven young adults, and a lot of pent-up frustration.

Oh yeah. Plus love and a little bit of hate.

Review by Gia:
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great quick read. The story is mostly from Jade's point of view. There is one chapter from Reed's point of view. The story starts with Jade writing an assignment on the topic of the similarities between love and hate. The story was well written and I was drawn into it before I finished the first chapter. I was completely surprised (in a good way) by the direction the story went in chapters 7 and 8.
This story is a 15,000 word novella.  I wish it was longer.

Jaded Little Lies (Four Letters, #1)

Jaded Little Lies (Four Letters #1)

What do you do when the love of your life is halfway across the world?

If you’re Jade Reamer, you fill that void with writing depressing song lyrics, hanging out with asshole exes, and re-reading your dead best friend’s diary (morbid, anyone?). But she’s got a lot to deal with—getting to know her biological family, for one. Not to mention getting through her first year of university without her best friend, Nina, by her side.

Then there are the men in Jade’s life. Her ex, Connor, has baggage coming out of his ass since the car accident. Her brother, Bryn, thinks stifling who he really is while pretending everything’s okay … is okay. When that’s far from the truth. And Reed? Reed decides the best way for Jade to deal with his absence is to get her a dog. And when he finally comes back?

Well, things aren’t exactly the same.

Deciphering between love and hate is the least of Jade’s problems … those four letter words are getting more and more complicated. Especially when she and Reed are keeping secrets from each other. Because as she forms new relationships and rekindles old ones, an unexpected surprise has got Jade’s mouth spewing lies on top of the usual curse words.

But little white lies won’t hurt anybody, right?

Note: This full-length novel follows the novella, Those Four Letter Words.

Review by Gia:
I read that this one can be read without reading Those Four Letter Words.  I read Those Four Letter Words before reading this one.  I would recommend that you do start with Those Four Letter Words first.    It gives you a better connection with the characters.
Jade has been through a ton of stuff, more than most people her age.  She has coped well with things.  She is rebuilding her life after she found out a lot of things she thought her not true.  She is reconnecting with her birth parents and their family.   I wanted to hate her ex Connor but he was always their for her even after they split up.  She has a rocky relationship with Reed and they have some things to figure out and work on.  Jade has a great sense of humor so even though there are some heavy things she deals with ahe still cracks some laughs.
The ending left me with some hope that Jade's brother Bryn will get a book.  I definitely love to read taht one.
