BLURB:
A knight in tarnished armor is still a knight.
When you’re a defense attorney in Washington, DC, you see firsthand how hard life can be, and that sometimes the only way to survive is to be harder. I, Jake Becker, have a reputation for being cold, callous, and intimidating—and that suits me just fine. In fact, it’s necessary when I’m breaking down a witness on the stand.
Complications don’t work for me—I’m a “need-to-know” type of man. If you’re my client, tell me the basic facts. If you’re my date, stick to what will turn you on. I’m not a therapist or Prince Charming—and I don’t pretend to be.
Then Chelsea McQuaid and her six orphaned nieces and nephews came along and complicated the ever-loving hell out of my life. Now I’m going to Mommy and Me classes, One Direction concerts, the emergency room, and arguing cases in the principal’s office.
Chelsea’s too sweet, too innocent, and too gorgeous for her own good. She tries to be tough, but she’s not. She needs someone to help her, defend her…and the kids.
And that—that, I know how to do.

REVIEW BY TABITHA:
First let me say, that this is the first book by this author I have read and whenever a new author to me comes along I am always very wary because you never really know what you are going to get. So starting off, I was like oh no it is going to be a hero I am most definitely not going to like. Jake was quite the male chauvinist a$$hole for lack of a better word in the beginning and having not read the first book in this series it was the first time I had met any of the characters. So to start with, I was already with the mindset that Jake had a long way to go to redeem himself and I really didn't think it was possible for me to feel that way about him in the beginning and then end up absolutely loving him in the end, but that is exactly what happened. I LOVED Jake!! He totally won me over completely!! And then there is Chelsea and well I adored her from beginning to end. The six kids....talk about hilarious!! The dynamic of these kids and Jake and Chelsea were absolutely great!! The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that there were times that I felt it kinda dragged but then something would happen and I would die laughing and then it would slow down a bit. It almost was like it went from 0 to 60 and there was no middle. But that definitely did not take away from how great the book was. It is just a personal preference that I like a little of that in between pace but overall this book was FANTASTIC!!! I am definitely going to be reading more from this author. This was a 4.25 AMAZEBALLS stars for me!!
