1 Can you tell us
a little about your books?
My series is
contemporary romance, each book focuses on a different person. They are all
linked as friends or family.
Molly, the first
in the series, is a friends to lovers story. Molly and Ryan are brought closer
after the death of someone close to them. They fight their feelings because of
the people around them.
Abbi’s novella
follows on from Molly. Abbi is Ryan’s little sister and through Molly you see
her start a relationship with Jax, Molly’s friend and employee. This hot and
sexy novella tells their story with covers both their past and their present.
Emma is a little
different to Molly and Abbi. She is still trying to cope with the loss of her
twin sister and has always felt like she hasn’t really fitted in. Her curves
make her very self-conscious of her body and she doesn’t believe any man would
look twice. When Connie’s brother appears he throws her world into a tailspin.
He’s a notorious player so why would he be interested in her?
The end of Emma
is the beginning of finding out the truth about Connie and Fin. They have both
been hiding things from the people they love and it’s time to come clean. They
have a fight on their hands if they are going to be together. Connie’s novella,
like Abbi’s, flicks back and forth between the past and present to fully
explore the relationship between Connie and Fin.
2 When did
you know you wanted to write a book?
I’ve always read on and off through the years but as with many people Fifty
Shades opened my eyes to a new kind of romance book. This started my love with
all things contemporary romance. I was finding plenty to read but when my mum’s
health took a turn for the worst and she ended up with carers coming to help I
met my now book bestie. She opened my eyes to this amazing book world and I’ve
never looked back.
I’d been thinking for quite a long time that I’d like to have a go at
writing, just for me to see if I could. I discovered it was an amazing getaway
from what was going on in real life, even more so than reading. I fell in love
with writing from that first chapter.
I admitted to my new bestie after a few glasses of wine one night, she read
it and it has gone on from there.
Writing is something I never thought I would do. English was never my
strong point, so much so that I attended one lesson of English Literature in
college and never returned!
I kept my writing secret for quite a while for a number of reasons but now
when I admit to people what I’ve been up to their chins hit the floor!
3 Do you
have a favorite food or drink you must have nearby when writing?
Tea, always tea!
I seriously struggled while writing Emma because I was pregnant with my
little girl and I’d totally gone off tea, water really didn’t cut it!
4 Do you listen to
music while you write?
Yes I always
have music on in the background. It’s either just a music channel or smooth FM
but I always have it pretty quiet.
5 If you ever
experience a case of writer’s block, how do you cure it?
I haven’t had a bed case of
writers block yet thankfully but when I’m struggling for ideas then a long
bath, a drive somewhere or just an early night thinking usually brings me
inspiration.
6 When you
write do you write the first draft on a computer or paper and pen?
I write out a
rough plot in my notebook and add things as ideas hit me but I always type out
the actual story. Mostly on my laptop but I have been known to do it on my
phone in the hairdressers or sat waiting for someone in the car.
7 What is a
usual writing day like for you? How is it structured?
What are writing projects are you currently working
on?
Since
my daughter was born it’s a little more sporadic based on her but luckily she’s
an amazing baby and allows me to at least get something down everyday even if
it is only 100 words! Before she was born I was writing around a full time job
so it was whenever I could find sometime. The decision has been made now though
that I’m not returning after my maternity leave ends so I will hopefully
continue to have time each day to write, if little one allows!
I’m
currently working on a couple of different projects. Lilly is the next book in
my series, that has been started but what is really taking up my brain and time
is something a little different. I haven’t announced anything about so you’re
about to be the first to know! I’m spending my time with two sexy men as I write
my first M/M romance. That’s all I’m going to say for now but watch this space!
