Clutch by Tess Oliver
Released: 5th November 2013
Synopsis:
When Taylor Flinn’s parents shipped her off to an aunt for her last year of high school, James “Clutch” Mason had convinced himself it was for the best. Taylor, the wild, impulsive and far-too-appealing seventeen-year-old had been driving him nuts. Her school girl crush on him had been the last thing he needed. Now he had time to concentrate on his booming classic car part business, his new found love-- drag racing, and keeping his twenty-year-old brother Barrett out of trouble. But when Taylor returns from her aunt’s more grown up, utterly seductive, and attached to another guy, Clutch realizes that the only thing he ever needed or wanted was Taylor Flinn.Review:
Clutch is the second book in Custom Culture series. Freefall is the first book in the series. Freefall is Nix and Scotlyn's story. I haven't read the first in the series, but I was not lost reading Clutch. It contains many of the characters from the first book and moves their stories forward. There is enough character background in Clutch that it can be read as a stand alone. But after reading it, I do want to read Freefall.
Clutch is the story of James "Clutch" and Taylor. The story is told in a dual POV. So, we get to see both Taylor's and Clutch's perspective. Taylor has had a crash on Clutch for a long time. When she's around Clutch she sometimes makes rash decisions. Taylor has gotten herself into trouble and her parents and brother try to keep her away from Clutch. There is a point where Clutch finally realizes that Taylor is the one from him, but it's not that easy there are bumps and turns in the road for their relationship.
This was a really go read. Although it was the second book in the series and I'm sure there will be other books in the series, there was no cliffhanger. It's a really sweet story and I would recommend it.
