Excerpt:
Just as the minutes tick by I go
from yes, I will go with Jax, to no because I can’t keep running.
There is about twenty minutes
left before Jax needs the answer and my phone buzzes.
I jump back, on edge.
I look at the caller ID and its
Alex.
Jesus, does this guy ever stop?
I can’t talk to him now. I have to keep him safe too, even though
he doesn’t deserve it after the stunt he pulled last night. I
can’t keep ignoring him, I have to face my fears and tell him
goodbye. Then that’s when it hits, I have to go back to Matt and
face whatever he has in mind for my punishment.
I reach over and place the phone
to my ear. “Hello, this is Louise.” I’m putting on a brave act,
hopefully he doesn’t see straight through it.
“Hey Louise, it’s so good to
hear your voice,” he breathes through the other end of the phone,
like he can finally breathe again.
“Ah, yeah, so why … um…
did you call me after what you pulled last night?” I wait for his
answer, taking him longer than usual.
“Right, well about that, I
don’t know. I know I fucked up, no pun intended, but I didn’t
mean to hurt you.” He chuckles at his joke.
“Seriously, this is how you
are going to act, after everything? Look, I know nothing has happened
between us, but maybe I had a little hope, knowing your reputation
around town, but after last night, you can forget it. Just as well,
I’m leaving town. You won’t hear from or see me again. I hope
you’re happy.” Before I give him a chance to reply, I hang up the
phone. I’m fuming, so angry at the events that have taken place
tonight, the only option I have is to go back to Matt. I bring up the
new contact that Jax gave me and send a text saying:
Hey,
I can't. I know I have to go back and I will.
Stay
safe.

Interview with C. Renee:
1. Can you tell us a little about your book?
An easy enough question, It's a romance suspense novel and it is my debut novel.
It's
about a girl who falls in love with a boy but a few years later he
turns into a completely different person. He is involved in a Motorcycle
Club, he becomes physically and emotionally abusive and she finally has
had enough. Louise decides to leave her ex Matt and the life she knew
to return home. Unfortunately, life has more in-store for her, Louise
moves back home and she tries to get her life back.
She meets Alex, the man you want to stay away from but there's this spark that's lite up between the two.
They both have dark pasts to overcome.
2. How do you come up with your characters names?
Some of my characters are actually friends names, or names that i've
heard on tv shows and they just stuck with me. Louise and Alex just
click together.
3. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I've always read books, it first started with Twilight and I began with
paranormal. After a while it got repetitive and I stopped. I'ts not
until 50 shades came out that I started reading again. I was actually a
book reviewer & blogger for a few months that got me connected to
the book world. Then one day, I just had an urge to write my own and
from that day I haven't stopped.
4. Do you have a favorite food or drink you must have nearby when writing?
I actually don't like to drink or eat while i'm writing, I know that seems strange but I feel distracted if I do.
I love food too much to share my attention.
5. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
Most of my writing gets done in the car, sitting in the backseat. I
edit in my room but soon enough my writing spot will be at the beach.
6. What is a usual writing day like for you? How is it structured?
I try to write everyday, I have OCD so I would try to write a chapter a
day. I try to aim for 3K words in each chapter but life gets in the way
and I just continue it the next day.
It doesn't matter what time in the day, I just have to write.
7. What is your favorite comfort food?
My favourite comfort food is chocolate, I mean who doesn't love that brown goodness!
8. What are writing projects are you currently working on?
I am editing book two in The Precious Trilogy, once that's with the editors I will be working on book three.
I do have a standalone that's connected to that trilogy in the works.
I'm hoping by the end of the year I will be plotting another trilogy but this time it will be paranormal.
