I live in Herefordshire with my partner Steve and my 2 dogs. The original book started life when I was 19 back in 1992 but I was too scared to try and get it published! When I rediscovered it in 2013 I did a complete re write to get to the storyline of today. "Where did your Heart go?" was published in July 2013. It was great to actually include my very first kiss in it as my main characters first kiss - such a special moment x

The 2nd book in the Heart Trilogy called "Un-Break my Heart" has taken slightly longer to write but was published on 20th November 2014.

The 3rd book "Closer to the Heart" is also finished and was published at the end of September 2015.

Since starting to write I have to admit that I am really enjoying the whole experience and reading readers reviews has just spurred me on to continue for them.

Can you tell us a little about your books?

My Heart Trilogy Series is a set of books centring on the relationship between Stephanie & her daughter Charlotte. In “Where did your Heart go?” the first in the series Stephanie shares her diaries from 1988 with her daughter on the break-up of her first relationship. In doing this she shares the story of her own first love, a guy she has never really gotten over. The next two books “Un-Break my Heart” and “Closer to the Heart” follow them through after Stephanie meets her first love again after 24 years and Charlotte falls for a dancer. The books are filled with music from the 80’s through to now, films and fashion. My tag line for them is “Realistic Romance with an Erotic Twist”

I have just released my 4^th book which is a standalone but connected to the Heart Trilogy as it tells the story of the evil, vindictive woman called Felicity who makes Stephanie and Charlotte’s life in the Heart Trilogy run less than smoothly. It’s called “Bloodstained Heart. Part 1 – Passion” and the second part will conclude the story in December this year.

When did you know you wanted to write a book?

I first wrote “Where did your Heart go?” when I was 19, back in 1992 as a way of trying to get over my own first love (hint: the story in this book is based on me!) but at that time I was too scared to send it off to any publishers. So it languished in a box file until I hit 2013 and was going to be celebrating my 40^th Birthday. I’d seen how easy Amazon made it for people to get published so I re-wrote the entire story but kept some of the storyline and happily fulfilled a dream to publish a book before my big birthday.

What inspires you to write?

Good question! I guess once I started I realised that my characters had more story to tell so what was meant to just be a standalone became a trilogy! Also following the release of the 1^st book and getting fans contacting me and asking what happens next? For the characters they had fallen in love with. I guess for this trilogy it was the powerful thought of “What if you could meet your first love again? Would it work a second time round?”

Do you work with an outline, or just write?

I do tend to just write, or at least I did with the first, although I had the idea in my head it just kind of evolved as I wrote. Then with the rest of the trilogy I actually wrote the end of the 3^rd book before I started the 2^nd so I knew where I had to get too but I enjoy the way the characters shape the journey there! It’s scary but fun!

Do you listen to music while you write?

Always, there is a playlist which you can download from the eBook file of the first book with all the songs that are mentioned in the story. My lead character Stephanie is a DJ so music runs through her life and her daughter, Charlotte is an aspiring dancer. My particular favourites are George Michael, Rick Astley, the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing and Savage Garden. All my book titles are also song titles – look them up as the lyrics help to describe the storylines in each of the books.

Do you have a favourite spot to write?

No, I write on my iPad which means that I carry it around with me everywhere. I enjoy writing on the bus on my journey to work and also at my Other Half’s gigs. In the summer I enjoy sitting in the garden whilst the winter it’s my favourite chair near the log burner!

Do you have a favourite food or drink you must have nearby when writing?

I tend to favour herbal tea or at weekends a nice glass of red wine. Not sure if the alcohol helps or hinders!!

What are writing projects are you currently working on?

I’m currently half way through “Bloodstained Heart. Part 2 – Revenge” the continuing dark romance story of Felicity. I’m also writing a short story for a forthcoming anthology to raise money for Mental Health. After that I have been making notes and plans for my next trilogy called “Chequered Love” a formula 1 based romance centring on the first female driver. I also have a couple of American authors who would like to work on some collaboration with me in the future. Just wish I had more time to devote to it.
