Interview With L. Bachman:

1.    Can you tell us a little about your books?
I released my first book just this year! Maxwell Demon is my first release that launches a series I’ve been working on called The Blasphemer Series. I’ve been told, by those that have read ARCS of Maxwell Demon that this book has a little bit of something for everyone with all the types of creatures and beings within it. It’s scary enough with sprinkles of fantasy along the way. I’ve also been told that this is a ‘new type of paranormal’ since I have re-written the origin stories of many creatures like werewolves and vampires.
Maxwell Demon focuses on Maxwell, a fallen angel, and Adele the final reincarnated life for Lilith.

2.    When did you know you wanted to write a book?
When I was little, writing became a way of helping me feel better. As I continued writing and my stories got bigger and bigger in word count I thought just maybe I could do this. It wasn’t until I finally let a few people read something I’d written and got really good feedback that I thought, ‘Maybe a book would be the next step.’

3.    Do you ever experience writer’s block?
I have and it’s horrible. For me, having writer’s block was almost a creative death sentence that affected me. Writing makes me happy so when I’m not I, overtime, become miserable.

4.    Do you work with an outline, or just write?
I had tried a few different things over the years to help me build a structure to go off of, but ultimately I just opened a document and began writing all my mesh of ideas down for every book in the series or every book I had thought of and just let it flow. Something began to happen and that’s what helped me. As I begin to actually write I scan over my notes and then just let go into the story becoming engulfed within the world allowing its characters to take me where they want me to go.

5.    Do you have a favorite spot to write?
My desk in my bedroom/office is where I usually write, but I always have a notebook and pen nearby when away from it just in case I have to catch a few notes and thoughts.

6.    Do you listen to music while you write?
I do. I am the type of person that can be inspired visually and auditorily.

7.    What do you do when you are not writing?
I spend time with my family, read, and help other authors out with graphics or blogging.

8.    What writing projects are you currently working on?
Currently, I’m working on Harvest, the second installment of The Blasphemer Series and working on a short story for an anthology that is coming up next year in which the funds go to help those with PTSD.
