Welcome Today's Featured Author
Brooke Blaine!!!

Flash Point

The first time I saw her, I knew I’d have to kill her.

It’s been five years since the brutal death of her mother, and Katherine Shaw still relives the nightmares of that night.
She escaped.
The danger should’ve been over.
She couldn’t have been more wrong.
When her father, a prominent Justice, receives a chilling death threat, her past comes hurtling into her present.
The warning is clear: They’ve got unfinished business, and they’re coming for her.

Katherine Shaw.
Rich girl? Check.
Spoiled and obstinate? Check.
A beautiful fireball who pushes every button he has? That was not listed on the dossier Jason Garrett receives when he’s assigned as one of her bodyguards. The last thing he ever expected was that his tempting client would prove to be more dangerous than those he’s protecting her from.

Their attraction would be forbidden even under the best circumstances. But as the threat draws near, the tension between the two of them rises, culminating in an explosive flash point that will blindside them both.

A DESPERATE MAN
Volumes 1-3
Fantasies—we all have them.
For some, it’s their dream job; others want the wedding, the 2.5 kids, the white picket fence.
My fantasies are a bit more...depraved.
Dark and sinful, they have destroyed relationships and my livelihood, yet I still submit to them like a slave.

Sex.
For most, it’s a natural expression of love, caring, or lust.
But there are those of us who can’t stop once we’ve had a taste.
Those of us who don’t want to.
And the shame of that never-ending cycle will eat us alive...

My name is Evan James, and I am a sex addict.

Licked
Coming Fall 2015

About Brooke Blaine:
You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her ‘quiet time.’ Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas.
Flash Point is her debut solo novel, and she is the co-author of the erotic serial, A Desperate Man, with Ella Frank. The latter has scarred her conservative southern family for life, bless their hearts. Licked, a romantic comedy, will be released in the fall of 2015.
If you’d like to get in touch with her, she’s easy to find - just keep an ear out for the Rick Astley ringtone that’s dominated her cell phone for ten years.

Interview With Brooke Blaine:

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
Absolutely! My first solo novel, Flash Point, is a romantic suspense standalone that centers on an early twenty-something and her (super sexy) bodyguard. If you like a good twist in your stories, it’s for you. wink emoticon
I co-authored an erotic romance serial, A Desperate Man, with my bestie, Ella Frank, and whewwwww, it’s a naughty one. Like super filthy don’t-show-your-mama dirty. LOL. The first two installments are available now, and the final chapter in the story will be released on September 13th.
My next novel will be Licked, a romantic comedy, and I’m super excited to tell you all more about it…soon!!

2. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I’ve always been a reader and a writer, but it never occurred to me that I could actually write a book. Oh, I came up with ideas and characters all the time when I was in school, scribbling them down in my notebooks, but I never thought seriously about being a writer. Only magical unicorns could do that. When self-publishing started to hit in 2011 and early 2012, that’s when I thought hmmm…

3. Do you ever experience writer’s block?
I do if I don’t plan a bit and brainstorm. I’ve got an excellent critique partner who hashes out ideas with me, thank God. I’d be lost without her. I’ve definitely had to move on from writing books I’ve gotten stuck on. Flash Point was not intended to be my first solo novel, but I was so stuck halfway through the other that I just couldn’t make it work. Turned out to be for the best!

4. Do you work with an outline, or just write?
I need to know where I’m going, or I feel so lost. An outline (even a vague one) is what helps me stay productive. I write almost exclusively in sprints (as much as I can for half an hour, then small break, then again half an hour, then small break). If I don’t do sprints, it could take me a whole day to write about 200 words. And then you guys would never get a story out of me.

5. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
I’m usually at my desk, but I’m usually hopping around. Desk, couch, sometimes Starbucks. Sometimes outside with a notepad to get some color on my pale white girl skin. LOL

6. What do you do when you are not writing?
When am I not writing? That’s the question. I work more now than I ever have in my life, but I’m not complaining (though my family and friends might). If I did have downtime, I’d steal my nieces and nephews for a day out, catch up on movies and reading, or meet some friends out for Mexican and margaritas.

7. What writing projects are you currently working on?
I’m currently writing Licked, my next novel, which is due out this fall. It’s a romantic comedy in what will be a series of standalone novels, each centered on a different character. I’ll be sharing the cover reveal/blurb/release date information soon, so find me on social media or check out my website www.brookeblaine.com for the latest news!
