Assassin by Day

What would you do if the mystery to your mother’s death lay with your employer?

After years of unanswered questions, Mishka Vald sets out to uncover the skhodka’s involvement in her past. What she doesn’t expect is to join forces with men who push her to become a double-agent and confirm her future. While hunting down leads, the ruthless assassin realizes a life in the shadows is the only way for her to protect those she loves.

For Mishka, forbidden love is worth the pain when it comes to Eddie Harper, a military man turned cop. Her affection waivers when duty comes first and she joins forces with an elite Russian soldier, Alexei Petrovich. With a blackmailer threatening her school love, she seeks refuge with a fellow assassin, Nickolas Volkov. And when pushed too far, she’s ushered to a secure location…and straight into the arms of mysterious handyman, Dylan Kain. As the pieces fall into place, their mangled order reveals each man’s true intention. Whose deceit can she accept and whose will obliterate her?

All roads lead back to the woman she thought dead—her mother. Now, as weddings are crashed and alliances tested, Mishka uncovers a deadly game and the players involved. Her heart, once unable to budge, is thrust into action, but which man can keep her soul intact?

Interview With Tessa Robertson:

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
I love to write stories that keep the readers engaged but also make them think. My debut novel, Assassin By Day, is a thriller mixed with plenty of romance and spy themes.

2. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I knew I wanted to write Assassin By Day when I had something I needed to get out there for the world to read.

3. How did you choose the genre you write in?
I think the genre really chose me. Normally, I write straight-up romance, but with Assassin By Day, the characters took me to thrilling new heights.

4. Using one sentence, can you describe Assassin by Day?
 A racy, pacy, thriller romance.

5. What is a usual writing day like for you, how is it structured?
I try not to have too much structure when I write because I like to let the story take me places. Typically, when inspiration hits me, I grab my pen and notebook and try to ignore the world so I can get the words on paper.

6. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
I like to write somewhere quiet. That doesn't always happen, but just about anywhere that I have time to myself and a bit of country music is ideal for me.

7. If your fairy godmother waved her wand and whisked you away to the location of your choice, which place would you choose, and why?
I would go to Scotland. I've been obsessed with Scotland since I was sixteen and even applied to universities there. There's just something so romantic and intriguing about the country.

8. What are writing projects are you currently working on?
Right now, I'm working on the sequel to Assassin By Day. My hope is to have it out by 2018.
