He assures her she has his full loyalty and the divorce is just a matter of time, and she desperately wants to believe him. But his estranged wife re-enters his life, and Tristan must figure out how to convince Aaliyah that she means the world to him.

Chevoque was born as Rochelle de Beer on 15 May 1992 in Klerksdorp, South Africa, and as an only child, the world seemed like a lonely place, until she set her mind free and got lost in the worlds she created for herself. Interview With Chevoque:

Can you tell us a little about your books?

In general, my books usually deal with real world issues, show diverse characters and carries something personal from my own life.

The real world issues might either be things that aren't necessarily openly spoken about (sexual assault, dealing with loss, body positivity, etc.) or a cause I want people to support (stopping the fur trade, epilepsy awareness, etc).  As for diverse writing, it is something utterly important to me, as it always confused me over why the people I see in the outside world aren't represented in media, so I always strive to make my books relatable to everyone; be it a POC, a LGTBQ member or someone with a 'disability', I want all my books to allow people to feel like they could be part of the story.  Lastly, I add something personal as I began writing to have an outlet (many of the real world issues I add comes from my own life and people I know), thus adding something that happened within the period I was writing the book, shows my and those I care for's progress with the issue.

Also, I have Easter Eggs throughout my books that tie them all together (excl. shorts and anthology).

What inspires you to write?

South African people; every person I’ve met, will meet and just passed by.  We are a nation of amazing people I can’t stop loving to share with the rest of the world.

When did you know you wanted to write a book?

I always knew I wanted to do something as amazing as this, so around eight years old I already began writing poems and songs, but never more than that.  Later I truly began creating stories and actually putting the ideas down on paper.  My book, Runners and The Stray, is a story idea I got at the age of sixteen and six years later I self-published it.  I truly believe that writing had always been within me, it was just a matter of finding the discipline to sit down and complete the stories that brought it out of me.

When you write do you write the first draft on a computer or paper and pen?

It all depends on where I am.  Since writing by hand is quicker, a fresh idea will be done on paper, if I'm home.  But since many of my stories just come to me, I'll even write on my phone while in the shopping mall if I have to.  I'm extremely forgetful, so if I get an idea, it needs to immediately be written down or voice recorded.

Do you listen to music while you write?

It is an utter must for me.  I love the silence, but music creates a rhythm for me and it helps me space out while writing.  I have over 20K songs in my playlist from every genre and music having always been around when I grew up, it just feels right to have it be present when I write.

For a reader who hasn't read your books yet, which book do you suggest they start with?

Just Like You (Like You Holiday Collection) is a standalone New Adult Romance dealing with loss and how someone else can help you deal with the pain.  It is loosely based on one of my best friends and I believe that loss is something we all deal with, so most people will probably relate to it.

If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

I wanna say something heroic that could truly help people, but to be utterly selfish, I would love to control the weather.  I recently moved to a small town in Limpopo in SA and it is ALWAYS hot.  As someone who loves the cold and rain, I'd make it softly drizzle every day and drink mocha like water.

What are writing projects are you currently working on?

I'm working on the second book, The Imperceptible One, of The Marked Series which takes place in Japan, so that has me very excited.  I began writing a medieval romance book, as I had some readers asking for another historical read, but I realised it held great potential for a fantasy romance and thus it is in that critical process of adapting to a genre I have yet to master.
