True (The Story of Us #1)

by
I never thought I'd risk my true... my everything, but one mistake can change lives. True love is undeniable... but is it forever?

Alex Turner was my true… my husband, the father of my children, the man of my dreams. But what happens when that isn’t enough anymore?

I knew something was different about Justin Rich. The way his eyes lingered a little longer on places they shouldn’t, his brazenness and suggestive double meanings excited me. I knew I was flirting with danger but I couldn’t seem to stop myself.

True love can make your heart soar. Secrets and lies can break it.

*includes hot sexual situations and the topic of infidelity*

Interview with Gwendolyn Grace:

1) Can you tell us a little about your books? True is the story of Alex and Courtney. They've been together for 10 years and are married with kids. They have reached a rough patch in their marriage and communication between them is almost non-existent. Alex is a workaholic and Courtney is lonely. Their relationship begins to unravel after a series of bad decisions on both parts. Forever True is a short follow up novella to True.

2) Using one sentence describe your series, The Story of Us?
I hope people see it as a cautionary tale that is very relatable.

3) Do you have any “odd” writing habits?
I don't have any odd habits for writing but I can sometimes fixate on a story, or a scene and it's all I can think about until I write it down.

4) Who has the biggest influence on your work?
I love Kristen Ashley. I admire her ability to constantly write great stories. She has a distinct style that can't be duplicated. You know her work right away. I also admire any author who has made the courageous step in publishing a story. It's a scary thing.

5) Do you listen to music while you write?
Yes, I usually listen to my Pandora One app. I set it to shuffle until I find a song or artist that inspires me to write.

6) Do you work with an outline, or just write?I work with an outline of sorts. I usually just type out my thoughts as if I were sitting there telling an abbreviated version of my story. There is no sense to be made of it, no format or anything I just type everything I can possible think of until it's all out. Then I go back and sort it out into bullet point and chapter ideas, then I start writing.
7) What's one random fact about yourself that you can share?
For years only only read historical romance. I couldn't stand anything contemporary. I liked that the stories lacked modern conveniences and everyday things such as a kiss in public were considered scandalous or taboo. It was an escape. I still think that it's funny that I ended up becoming a contemporary romance writer. That was Fifty Shades of Grey's fault. After I read that book, my interests shifted and now I can't tell you that last time I read a historical romance.

8) What’s your favorite season?
I like the fall. I don't enjoy cold or hot weather. I prefer sweater weather.

9)  What was the last book you read?
Nine Minutes by Beth Flynn and I loved it!

10) What project are you working on now?
I am working on a fun story with plenty of sexy southern charm. It will be part of an anthology scheduled to be released early 2015.
