Beyond the Orange Moon is book two in the Mathews Family series.   I loved meeting the Mathews family in book one, Under the Orange Moon.  Book one is Dylan and Ben's story.   We meet Dylan and her brothers in book one.  Book two in her brother Charlie's story.   The Mathews family is a very close knit family so we get more on all of the Mathews in Beyond the Orange Moon.  I think you would be okay reading Beyond the Orange Moon without reading Under the Orange Moon. 

Beyond the Orange Moon, is Charlie and Lucy's story.   Charlie and Lucy's paths cross during a tragic moment in the very beginning of the book.  It's a tear jerking, heart string pulling scene.  At that moment both their lives change.  Charlie becomes a single Dad and Lucy quits the nursing program.    

When there paths cross again Charlie doesn't remember her being there at that tragic day but Lucy remembers him.   Lucy and Charlie start a relationship and Lucy slowly melts the walls around Charlie's heart.   When the truth about Lucy being there are that tragic day comes to light it puts a big bump in their relationship.  

I loved reading Charlie and Lucy's story.   It's a great read that take you through Charlie and Lucy's pain and show you how they can overcome the past and have a happy future.  The whole Mathews family is great.  I have my favorite Mathew's brother and I hope he gets a book next.
