Interview With Derek:

 

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?All of my books are in the Sci-Fi genre, with my first series focusing on the superhero and spy corners of it all. The Ultimate Agent series follows Devon and Brett as they fight their way through missions of epic and dire proportions. Superpowers and high-tech gadgets, what more could you want?

2. What inspires you to write?

If I can move just one person with my books, that's all I need for inspiration. It humbles me that there are those already who are patiently (and some impatiently) waiting for more of what I write. 3. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

So far there are 8 books in the UA series, with the finale coming out hopefully this year! I have other ideas in the works, and somehow during isolation I was able to keep the creativity going.

4.How do you come up with your characters' names?

The main characters are mashups of friends that I have, but a lot of the "agents" in the books I write are the fans. I love being able to include them in the worlds I create!

5. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?

I don't get a whole lot of time some days, but I always try to at least get a page or so even when there isn't much time. Weekends and early mornings usually work, when I actually want to get out of bed, that is....

6.  If someone who hasn't read any of you books yet, which one would you suggest they read first?

Start with "The Ultimate Agent - Book One", as it sets the stage for the whole superhero series. Once more of my other ideas are out there, then I may change my mind. 7. If you had a superpower, what would it be?

The ability to absorb other abilities. Is that cheating? 

8. What writing projects are you currently working on?

I'm currently working on the UA finale as mentioned earlier, as well as a dinosaur/time-rift WIP, and a couple of android ideas that are floating around. OH and something that may make you never want to have a pet again... mwahaha....
