Welcome Today's Featured Author
Danielle Dickson!!

Book by Danielle Dickson:

Little Hollow series:

One Moment:
All it took to turn my world upside down was one moment.
I lost everything and in the midst of it all, he left me too.
I've been doing just fine pretending to be getting by, until I see him standing on the edge of the dock after all these years.
I can’t forgive him, not after what he did.
But damn, my heart wants me to.

When I’m With You:
Protect myself first… always. My past has taught me that much.
The very people that were meant to love me unconditionally turned their backs on me. I shouldn’t have expected anything less from them, but his betrayal cut deep. He was the only one who ever cared.
I’ve moved across the country to get as far away as I can from all of them, but deep down I know they aren’t finished with me yet.
I know it’s just a matter of time before they finally catch up to me.
I hope I can make it out alive.

Betting On Love:
My door has always been revolving.
Nothing serious, just fun, so why change it?
A relationship hadn’t crossed my mind, until her... the infuriating, witty Goddess from across the pond who now lives down the hall from me.
She teases me with her perfectly shaped peach of an ass and British accent. She makes me want more, all the while making me feel like I’ll never get it.
I need to get her into my bed and out of my system.
The bet I've planned may not be one of my brightest ideas, but I’m going to chuck my doubts in the fuck-it bucket and win.
She’s not going to know what hit her.

Taking Control:

I’ve always treated life like a balancing act, standing on a thin line between order and chaos.
One wrong move and I’ll fall, losing all sense of control.
Then she happens.
One night of unadulterated sex blurs the line and sends me running toward a release, but I know I can’t stop there.
After a lifetime of chasing highs, she’s my newest addiction.
And I need a hit, no matter the cost.

Etching Our Way:

It only comes once in a lifetime, that all consuming love—the kind that grips your heart and soul like a vice and never lets go.
When that love is threatened; you’d do anything to protect the only good thing in your life, even if that means surrendering and letting it go.
A lot can happen in ten years—heartbreak, devastation, loss.

Fighting Our Way:
Secrets are supposed to be kept hidden; buried deep down inside where no one can discover them.
Only some secrets have a way of destroying you.
That perfect reflection cracks, slowly revealing everything you’ve kept locked away; shattering the image you've created into tiny pieces.
But what happens when the web you’ve weaved starts to unravel and escaping the wreckage isn’t an option anymore?
Do you reveal the dark mystery that has been surrounding you and pull the p
eople you love into the fray?
Or is your only choice the one that will lead to the end of life as you know it?

About Danielle Dickson:

Danielle Dickson has always dreamed about writing a book. With many stories to tell, she finally
pulled her finger out one morning when one story screamed at her louder than the rest. When
Danielle’s not writing, she can be found devouring the words of other people’s worlds, painting
people’s faces with makeup, or feeding her unhealthy obsession of pink iced doughnuts—seriously,
she’s obsessed.  A self-confessed weirdo and horror movie fanatic, there’s never a dull moment in
her clumsy, fun-filled  life. She gets lost in the magic a book immerses you in and hopes to capture
that magic for her readers.

Interview With Danielle Dickson:

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?

I have six novels out currently, with the seventh being written. Two are part of my Little Hollow
series—One Moment and When I’m With You—one is a romantic comedy spin-off of
Little Hollow—Betting On Love—two are co-authored with Abigail Davies, they’re part of the
Broken Tracks series—Etching Our Way & Fighting Our Way—and my last release was a steamy
contemporary romance called Taking Control. Each one is available on Kindle Unlimited.
I write emotionally charged romance with an added bit of steam. The characters are always real
and a little (or a lot) flawed. I always want to portray a “real” character in my writing so people
can relate in some way or another.
I also write romantic comedies that are full or dry, sarcastic humour (like my own sense of humour.)
People have said Betting on love is laugh-your-socks-off funny and I can’t wait to get writing
more of those.

2. What inspires you to write?

My love of the written word first and foremost. I pull inspiration from music, TV shows, real life,
anything that will get my creative juices flowing really. I need to tell the stories I’m writing and give
voices to characters that have been filling my head. It’s as simple as needing to write that keeps
me going.

3. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I’ve written nine books throughout my life, but only six have been published. I’d never punish the
other three. They were a personal journey for myself and I only. But out of the fictional books I’ve
published, I’d have a hard time choosing between Betting On Love and Taking Control. Purely
because I love them for different reasons and the tone of them is polar opposite. Betting On Love is
a light-hearted read but with a slight undercurrent of seriousness, whereas Taking Control is a
very intense story about a man’s struggle with addiction and control.

4. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?

I have to have a schedule otherwise I’d be an unorganised mess. I get up in the morning and
take my daughter to school and the house gets a spruce before I shut myself in my office and
start writing.  I’ll work up until lunch time and then jump straight in after that until school pick-up.
If I’m really feeling a scene/book then I have to write at night time. Sometimes I write my best
scenes in the dead of night when the house is quiet and it’s just me and my laptop. And then
sometimes you just have to write when inspiration strikes. I’ve spent hours in my car in a
supermarket car park before writing page after page until the words stopped flowing when
I was really meant to be shopping. I have to write when something comes to me, otherwise
it’s never the same if I wait.

5. Do you have a favorite food or drink you must have nearby when writing?

I’m very conscious of trying to be healthy since I’m sat around a lot, so I only drink water
during the day, but food wise? I wish I could stop myself but I need my little snacks to keep
my going. I will have fruit etc but nothing is better than peanut M&M’s. I have a huge jar my
husband always tops up for me on my desk.

6. Do you have a favorite spot to write?

I write at my desk most of the time, but I have a really comfy cuddle chair in front of it that
makes it easier to stay there for long periods of time. My desk lowers to whichever height I
need it which is handy. I do love writing in bed though. I’ll make it and then sit straight in it
with my laptop. I think it’s a comfort thing really. When I’m in bed I feel like I don’t have to
do anything else, whereas if I’m sat at my desk then I feel compelled to write
“just another page” before going to do laundry or something else.

7. If you had a superpower, what would it be?

I’d love to be able to transport anywhere I wanted to. I love to travel more than anything, but
time and money always get in the way. With a click of my fingers I could be in Asia right now
and be back by school pick-up! How amazing would that be. It’d also be handy for book research
and to visit family/friends. And to not have to drive to/from places and miss traffic. Heaven.

8. What writing projects are you currently working on?

I am SO excited about what I’m currently writing!! It’s a duet that will introduce my readers to a
brand new world and characters. I’m writing it as one long book and then splitting it into two so I
can release very soon after the first one releases so they don’t have to wait for the conclusion for
long.  I hate making my readers wait if I can help it. This duet will hopefully make the readers go
through a myriad of emotions. I want there to be angst, emotional times, funny elements and
anecdotes, sweet relationships and friendships, and as always; flawed characters that people fall
in love with. This story is pouring out of me so I’m hoping to use NANO (a writing month for all
that don’t know what it is) to finish this beautiful story and have it released early next year.
