Interview With Liv Moore:
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
--
I just released my first book in May and my writing consists of mostly
contemporary romance with a bit of suspense and twists. I'm not a very
good plotter so when I write I never know the ending until it's
finished.
2. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
--
Ever since I was a teenager I've wanted to write a book. When I was
twelve I wrote a few chapters but then got distracted. I've always
written music lyrics, poems, short stories, but my first book was
actually the longest thing I've ever written. I took a creative writing
class my sophomore year of college and it sparked my brain again about
writing a book. I decided to go to a writing retreat hosted by Laurelin
Paige and Sierra Simone that tough about how to write and just started
writing every day. Around 8 months later I published my first book!
3. What inspired you to write Sheets and Secrets?
--
I had a story in mind when I started writing that I came up with at the
writing retreat, but as I started typing a whole new story came to
life. Ellie is so much like me how she is quiet and reserved, but when
she starts working at a strip club (not like me LOL) a whole new part of
her comes to life.
4. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
--
I've only ever written in my office. It's alright for the most part.
There are days when I get a lot of words in and (more) days I do not.
With my next project, I'm going to try to go to Starbucks a couple times
a week and see if that helps the words flow.
5. Do you listen to music while you write?
--
Yes! I can't write without music. I listen to singer/songwriter music
that either makes me happy or makes me sad. It really reflects in the
scenes as I'm writing and my heart is literally on my fingers as I type,
which I wouldn't have any other way.
6. If you ever experience a case of writer's block, how do you cure it?
--
I do. All the time. Way more than I probably should. I create
Pinterest boards of my characters and my stories so looking back at them
helps me get back into the thought of my story. When it comes down to
it I just force myself to write. Whether it's five words or
five-thousand, every day I write is an accomplishment!
7. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
-- I would love to be invisible. Imagine all the hot guys you could watch in the shower naked... LOL
8. What are you working on next?
--
I'm working on a standalone novel that is a little different than
Sheets and Secrets. It's a little more dark and a lot more emotions. I'm
so excited to share Madeline with the world in The Thirteenth Kiss set
to release in October.
