The Eversley Siblings Series

The Ton can be very unforgiving to young ladies - even if an indiscretion is forced upon them. Lady Rebecca Eversley and Lord James Eversley are about to find this out the hard way.

Saved by a Rake

When Lady Rebecca Eversley is left ravished by the Earl of Newthorpe and facing ruination, she has the choice to point her pretty little nose in the air and face the gossips of the Ton or scurry off to the country to live out her life as an old maid. When she meets Lord Daniel Ramsey, a notorious rake, she decides on the former course of action.

Daniel has been given an ultimatum, marry before his father dies or lose the majority of his inheritance money. Rebecca seems the perfect candidate, especially once rumours about her start to circulate in the drawing rooms of Mayfair.

When Newthorpe is found dead on the morning of their wedding, the people they care about find themselves suspects in the case. Who murdered Newthorpe and can Rebecca ever get over what he did to her?

Restoring Lady Anna

When Lord James Eversley is accused of a murder he did not commit, he dresses up as his new brother-in-law’s footman and hitches a ride in their carriage out of town. When it seems they are no longer being followed he begins to relax until a minor accident causes them to stop at a shabby looking inn. As his “master” and his sister sip tea in the scruffy parlour, James comes face to face with Lady Anna, the woman who left him in the dead of night five years before and a familiar looking child.

Lady Anna has accepted her life as Mrs Johnstone, mother of four-year-old Viola, “wife” of Peter, the mentally ill former footman and land lady of a shabby inn on the Great North Road. Her plans for a love match with the handsome Lord Eversley were cruelly snatched away from her five years before. Her ruination means there is no opportunity to return to her family or the ton. When James turns up, dressed as a footman and demanding answers, Anna must decide whether to tell the truth.

James never stopped loving Anna and now he must learn what happened that fateful night that Anna left him heartbroken. With the truth out in the open, he must convince the love of his life to take a chance on him. He wants to marry her and restore her reputation among the aristocracy. But in Regency England reputations are easily lost and difficult to regain. Can Anna trust James enough to do what is right for Peter, despite his actions, her child and most importantly himself? Can James convince Anna to seek the help that Peter needs and return to the ton?

A Desperate WagerNathaniel Spencer, the Fourteenth Duke of Kirkbourne wakes up with an almighty hangover and a wager note in his pocket stating he has agreed to marry the Earl of Brackingham’s daughter. And he can’t even remember ever meeting the chit. Clearly his drinking has got out of hand.

Lady Sarah Steele is horrified when her father announces that the Duke of Kirkbourne has agreed to marry her and even more horrified that her father wagered her hand in a game of cards. Not only that, but the earl has not told the duke of the riding accident that left Sarah paralysed when she was sixteen. But he’s dying and she knows he wants to see her settled before the inevitable happens.

Despite Nate’s drinking and Sarah’s possible complicity in the earl’s plan, they agree to marry. But when accidents start to happen, the newly-weds must deal not only with the fact they are practically strangers, but they must find out who is trying to kill one or both of them. Nate’s drink problem and Sarah’s disability are only a couple of the hurdles they must face to find lasting love.

Lady Harriet’s Unusual Reward
Lady Harriet Weatherby is at the end of her tether. Her brother, the Earl of Oldbeck is running amok. That would not normally be her problem, but the ton consider the earl to be an imbecile. Since her father died, he has had no one to guide him and he will no longer listen to Harriet. And now that Mary the kitchen maid is carrying his child, Harriet sees no other option but to marry. And there is only one man for the job.

Two years ago Lord Stephen Charville, a widower and second son of a duke, promised Lady Harriet that he would do her any favour she asked him as thanks for saving his daughters life when she nearly drowned. He did not expect her to turn up at his townhouse and ask him to marry her and set an example to her brother. There is nothing wrong with Lady Harriet and he’s not averse to helping out her brother, he just has no inclinations to marry again. And for the record, he’s no tragic hero, pining away for his lost love. The problem is that Harriet begins to burrow her way into his affections.

When Lord Stephen offers without marriage to help the earl to learn the ways of the world, Harriet is still determined that the only way to do the job properly is for them to marry but she agrees to do it Lord Stephen’s way. No one is more surprised than Harriet when she begins to have feelings for the dissolute second son or when he begins to ignite passions in her she’d never dreamed existed, all the while trying to keep her errant brother out of trouble and way from scandal.

A Love Remembered
England, 1811

When Lord Benedict Mallory is lost at sea while fighting in His Majesty's Navy, Lady Cassandra Strong knows her happy ever after with the handsome duke's son will never be. That is until she spots her friend's footman. He bears a striking resemblance to the Lord who was presumed drowned.

A chance encounter with the newly restored Earl leaves Cassy with no option but to marry Lord Benedict. Can they overcome his loss of memory and forge a marriage for themselves?

The St Nicholas Day Wager
As the clock in White’s hallway chimes midnight on St Nicholas’ Day morning, Lord Nicholas, Viscount Eastden makes a stupid wager. Somewhat foxed, he agrees to a wager which states that he can marry the spinster sister of the Earl of Thornwich by Christmas eve. If Thornwich wins the wager and Eastden fails in his quest to marry her, he will get ten thousand pounds and vice versa. Having grown up on neighbouring estates, Nicholas can’t figure out why a nice girl like Gabriella failed for so many seasons on the marriage mart.

Gabriella appreciates the viscount’s honesty when he explains the wager. Knowing the dire straits of her family’s finances and her brother’s addiction to gambling, it seems that marriage to Nick may be the only option. But can she overcome his cruel words from their childhood when he taunted her about the strawberry birthmark on her face which blights her appearance?

After such a rocky start, can the Spirit of Christmas find its way into the lives of Nick, Gabriella and their families or will injury and grievances from the past keep them apart forever?

Stetsons and Kilts Series

An American Cowboy in ScotlandAs Rhona Lorimer waits for her new boss to arrive, she reckons things can’t get much worse. The manager of the Scottish estate has to explain to her new American boss that the estate is in ruins and there’s no money left. When the drop-dead gorgeous cowboy turns up in full Highland regalia, looking like he fell off a shortbread tin, Rhona knows she has her work cut out.

The locals don’t take to Lord Cole Macallan, so Rhona feels obliged to show him hospitality. But the guy is hot. Can Rhona fight her feelings for her new boss as their worlds collide and they discover just how much Scotland and America are two countries divided by a common language… but brought together by mutual passions?

A Cowboy Wedding in Scotland
Louise was pleased when her friend found love with the cowboy turned viscount, Cole Macallan eighteen months ago. Really pleased. She’s even helping her now pregnant friend to plan her wedding, even if Rhona is a bit of a Bridezilla. So it’s no bother to go to Glasgow Airport to pick up Cole’s brother, Jake and bring him back to Strathdougal. But that’s where the perfectly laid scheme goes agley – to quote Robert Burns.

A first kiss before they’ve been introduced, Jake’s oversharing about his disability and an argument about a suitcase means their friendship doesn’t get off to the best of starts. But when a flood at the hotel threatens the wedding Jake and Lou have to put their growing attraction aside and work together to save the wedding and stop Bridezilla from finding out and losing her mind completely.

Can Jake and Lou really forge any kind of relationship? A cowboy with a below-knee amputation and a Scottish accountant with a quick tongue and bad habit of speaking without thinking? Can a cowboy lose his heart to a girl who’s afraid to be wrangled?

About Em Taylor:

Em Taylor comes from the Central Belt of Scotland and now lives in a small village on the west coast just a few hundred yards from a medieval castle. She loves knitting, writing, arguing about politics and driving. A self-confessed geek, Em loves crewing film and comic conventions in her spare time.

As a young child Em was told that she should stop letting her imagination run away with her as an imagination wasn’t useful to anyone. She may not have an island like George from the Famous Five or have ever been as cool as the Twins at Sweet Valley High but she loves bringing her own worlds to fruition and using that imagination. One day she hopes that her own Mr Darcy, Cowboy or Highlander will sweep her off her feet and drag her off into the sunset.

 Interview With Em Taylor:

  1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
My books are hot and full of sex. Or if you read some of my Amazon reviews, they’re full of dirty sex and what kind of mind would write such books. To be fair, I don’t think that reviewer read the book. I write about Regency lords and ladies, Cotemporary heroes and heroines, Sexy and funny cowboys who find love in Scotland and Alien Vampires. Not all in the one book I hasten to add. I love all different genres and write in four of them. My heroes are always sexy, with a sensitive side.
  1. How did you choose the genre you write in?
I always loved romance. I grew up reading Sweet Dreams and Sweet Valley High and in the days before a librarian would monitor what books you took out from the library, I took out Silhouette romances which were terribly racy. They had all sorts of breast heaving and hand wandering up bare thighs action going on. I started writing Star Trek Voyager Fan Fiction and then started to write stories in my own worlds.
  1. Where do you get your ideas?
All over the place. Often from conversations or the spark of an idea. My Forsaken Blood series came from a discussion about how much I loved Lynsay Sands take on vampires and how I would love to do a different take on them. It would obviously have to be different so I didn’t plagiarise her but the same idea of taking a mythological creature and having a completely different backstory for them.
  1. Do you have a favorite character to write about?
They change depending on what I’m writing. I love my cowboys and cowgirls in Scotland partly because I like making people laugh and those stories do. But I think Lachlan will always be dearest to my heart. It took three attempts to get Discovered (the first book in the Forsaken Blood series) right.
  1. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
Depends on how I feel. I usually use my bed. If I feel a bit under the weather I like curling up on the couch. I also love heading to Dundonald Castle tearoom. Dundonald castle even features in An American Cowboy in Scotland.
  1. Do you listen to music while you write?
Hardly ever. I used to listen to music all the time but then I got Migraine Associated Vertigo and for over a year I was very sensitive to noise. I can still get that way. Tonight in the car they had a lot of modern dancey stuff on and it was giving me a headache. If I do it’s usually a modern country station (Brad Paisley – hubba hubba), pop or someone like Donnie Munro whose voice I find soothing.
  1.  What is a usual writing day like for you?  How is it structured?
I don’t have any structure to my day. I work odd shifts and I never know what I’ll be doing so I don’t plan. I just write as and when I can. As we say in Scotland - I just hing (hang) as I grow
  1. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
The power to clean my house in a flash. And the power to cure illnesses. They sound a bit naff but I really don’t want to see any politician in his or her undies so x-ray vision is out.
  1. What are writing projects are you currently working on?
Oh dear, I have so many at the moment. I’m finishing off the second Kilrigh Heat book – Highland Haven due out on the 17th of March. I have the second Forsaken Blood series book – Revealed to write. I have a paranormal school rom com to write. This is a story from the point of view of the teachers. Another couple of rom coms. A couple of regencies in the works. It’s all go.
