About Yolanda Ashton:

Yolanda Ashton is the alter ego of a thirty-something mother of three. Throughout daylight hours she’s an educational professional and during the nights (when she’s not daydreaming, reading and/or  watching vampire drama) she’s writing, hanging with family and trying to recover from a day spent with middle school students.
My two favorite things to do in the world (outside of family) are reading and writing-I fell in love with words at an early age. I love creating worlds with them and entering new worlds designed by them. Throughout my life I’ve always felt the epitome of a great “me” day is one spent reading a book or creating one.

Things I love:
The Vampire Diaries (Damon Salvatore…need I say more)
The Originals (Loving Klaus in all his bad-ass glory)
Chopped
Butterflies
Pop music
Marvel Super Hero Movies

Favorite Genres to Read:
Romance (New Adult, and Paranormal)
Young Adult

Interview with Yolanda Ashton:
 1)   Can you tell us a little about your books?
Sure. Most of my books involve the Hero/Heroine having a second chance at love with someone from their past. I also include diverse characters and try to make my heroines relatable. There's also plenty of sensual action :).

 2)   What inspires you to write?
I have an active imagination. I daydream a lot and writing is a way for me to get the characters and their stories out of my head...so I can daydream about something else..lol.

 3)   Do you have a favorite spot to write?
Yes. I love writing at the kitchen table or in a library.

 4)   Do you have any “odd” writing habits?
Yes! I have to have the right music playing to set the mood. I also have to have the "right" sized font or I'll go crazy until I figure out one that's not too big or not too small. Strangely it's a different font type for every story.

5)    Do you listen to music while you write?
Yes. I love music. I listen to Sia, One Republic, John Legend, Trey Songz..an electic mix. Music helps me capture the emotion of a scene.

  6)  When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I've always wanted to write since I was in elementary school. I also write some pretty intense poetry.

7)    What are writing projects are you currently working on?
I'm currently working on a Christmas romance (new adult) and a romance featuring a betrayed witch.

8)    Do you work with an outline, or just write?
A little of both depending on the story. Someontumes I do character sketches as well. Usually I plot it out in my head and go from there.

9)    What's the last book you read?
Trust No One from Jayne Ann Krentz. She's one of my favorites as well as her other pseudnoyms (Amanda Quick & Jayne Castle)

10)    What's one random fact about yourself that you can share? I love listening to the news. I'm an information geek and proud of it :)
