Skin Deep (Skin Deep #1)

Oh, who was she kidding? Emma knew that going to the tattoo shop with her best friend, Allie, would result in getting badgered until she ended up with some sort of needle piercing her flesh in one way or another. What she didn’t plan on was ending up face-first on the floor of the shop with a busted lip. Or doing it in front of the hottest guy she’d seen since…well, ever.

Mortified, Emma never thought she’d ever step foot back in Skin Deep again. But fate, with a little help from Emma’s flighty best friend and a chance encounter with a fudge bar, steps in. Now Emma’s torn between taking a chance on getting her heart broken by the enigmatic, gorgeous Lucas, and playing it safe with good ol’ trusty B.O.B.

Lucas lets Emma know that he gets what he wants, and what he wants is her. When Emma gives in and quits pushing him away, she’s surprised at how quickly the walls around her heart crumble. She’s even more surprised that her unconventional, zany family just endears her even more to him.

But no one knows there’s someone that wants her more, and they’ll stop at nothing to get her.

One little piercing. That’s all Allie wanted when she dragged her best friend into Skin Deep. She never imagined that it would result in a busted lip and an engagement ring for Emma, or that it would come with a double side of six-foot plus, tattooed, sexy-as-sin, H.O.T. maleness for her! Now she’s torn because Brandon and Jackson have both let it be known that they want her. And both are used to getting what they want. But what about what Allie wants?

Brandon is hot for Allie. So is Jackson. Neither of them are willing to step aside for the other and they’re tired of Allie running. So they hatch a plan…

Add in wedding bells, a dog named Doug, and you’ve got a recipe for a good time. Or a disaster.

Skin to Skin (Skin Deep, #3)

“I kissed Brandon.”

Three little words. One drunken night. And everything changed.

Starting over is never easy to do, and Chloe made it that much harder on herself when she lip-locked Brandon. Guilt-ridden, she confesses to Allie about the kiss. Instead of the black eye she figured was coming, she gets way more than she bargained for in the form of an Allie-sized reality check...but she still can’t shake the haunting memory of a certain toe-curling, leave-you-breathless, wet-your-panties kiss.

With Brandon and Chloe walking on egg-shells around each other, fate, this time in the form of two scheming, hormonal, pregnant women and three funny furballs, steps in once more, forcing them to face the fact that things have definitely changed between them…

But is it for better or worse?

Have you ever read a book that referenced some kind of deliciousness that you’d just love to try? You know, when a character sits down to a plate full of *insert yummy item name or description here* and you think to yourself, “God, that sounds so good; I wish I had the recipe.”

Well, now you do! At least for things you’ve read about in my Skin Deep Series, anyway. So grab a glass (ahem, or bottle) of wine, get your cookin’ shoes on, grab your apron, and call your friends. We’re cookin’ Skin Deep Style and…

It’s time for a Girl’s Night!

Interview With J.M. Stone:

  1. Can you tell us a little about your books?

Currently, I have three books out in the Skin Deep Series, Skin Deep, Under My Skin, and Skin to Skin. Skin Tight will be the fourth in the series. I also have a companion recipe book out now, called Girl's Night! Cookin' Skin Deep Style: Recipes You've Read About. The Skin Deep Series follows a fun loving, close knit group of friends and family members on their journey to find love and happiness, with all the crazy, funny, normal life stuff thrown in. Of course, add in tattooed, alpha male hotties, some twists and turns, and...well, it's a hell of a good time. ;) The books have it all, laughter, romance, suspense, and of course, lots and lots of steamy between the sheets action-or wherever it strikes their fancy.  The companion recipe book came about because I got emails all the time from readers asking for recipes for the foods mentioned in the series.

2.    How many books will there be in the Skin Deep Series?

There will be five books total in the series. But don't fret! That doesn't necessarily mean you'll never hear about or from those characters again...wink wink...

3.    Do you have a release day for Skin Tight?

I do not, unfortunately. I know it's frustrating to readers who want to know a definite date, but I don't like to give definite dates until I know 100% that the book will be completely ready to go on that date. I will say that I am planning on having it released, hopefully, before spring, maybe sooner. These books are my babies, and I want to make sure they're done right, so my readers get the story they deserve; I don't want to rush them if they aren't where they need to be.

4.    Do you have a favorite spot to write?

Believe it or not, my absolute favorite spot to write is my desk at work! (Yes, I should be working, doing my job, but sometimes you just have to get the words out...) My second favorite spot would be on my couch; I've gotten pretty good at tuning my family out. Until the dogs jump on my computer, or my daughter needs something done RIGHT NOW. (You know how teenagers are.)

5.    Do you listen to music when you write?

Definitely! I load up a playlist of songs that fit the mood and get lost in my own little word. And, I've been known to belt out some tunes while I write...which annoys my family as they're usually trying to watch TV.

6.    When did you know you wanted to write a book?

When I was young. English and reading were always my favorite subjects in school; I started writing my first book when I was a freshman in high school, which, I must say, will NEVER see the light of day. Yikes. I've always written poetry and song lyrics and short stories, but never published anything, other than poems that were published in anthologies through contests or whatever. I just decided one day that I was going to put my mind to it and actually publish a book and...here we are! It's been a crazy, nerve-wrecking journey so far, but I LOVE it and I'm so grateful for all the amazing people I've gotten to meet and talk to.

7.    Have you been asked any crazy questions by any fans? If so, can you share one?

I've had some interesting questions, that's for sure...I think the craziest one was probably from a gentleman (I'm assuming not really a fan, lol!) who emailed me to ask that I not write such dirty books and to please stop posting pictures of half-dressed men on my page. He very politely told me that he thought it was in poor taste. Still not sure what to do with all that...but needless to say, I did not reply.

8.    What's one random fact about yourself that you can share?

My friends and family call me Grace with great irony, because I'm the least graceful person in the world. Case in point? In high school, I was given the Best Boob Slider and Pavement Diver "Award"/title by my friends for tripping over a curb and pretty much sliding across the crosswalk on my chest at a busy intersection. In front of a group of college guys. Oy.

9.    Are you attending any author signings in 2015?

I'm on the waiting list for a couple, but I don't have anything definitely scheduled at this time, mostly because I've been working on getting Skin Tight finished. I would love to get some scheduled, though, once Skin Tight is done!

10.    What are writing projects are you currently working on?

I'm currently working on Skin Tight, but there's definitely a couple other things in process. ;)
