About chasing Reese:
Everything
in life is not permanent but it was perfect. Catalina Pardo had a
career in journalism most people could only dream of, a hot, sexy fiancé
to call her own and a brilliant future ahead of her. When tragedy
struck, the life she once knew fell apart. Four years later, traumatized
by the events that ultimately changed her existence, Catalina sets
herself on a punishing work schedule, preventing herself from facing the
demons of her grief-stricken past. Emotionally shut down, she’s alive
but not living because everyone she ever loved leaves her.
Fate
intervenes in Catalina’s life in the form of a last minute assignment
to a snowy mountain lodge in Whistler, B.C. Sent there to cover the life
of the infamous Jackson Reese; an Olympic Snowboarding Champion, she is
faced with many challenges bringing to surface the raw emotions of her
past. Compelled to work alongside Stryder Martynus, an award winning
photographer brought in to document the Reese press tour, tensions and
denial run high forcing Catalina to accept the past and face the present
with zero regrets.
*Adult Contemporary Romance - Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not suitable for readers under the age of eighteen (18+).*

Excerpt:
I
grab Catalina by her shoulders and push her against the door of our
shared suite, my arms pinning her in place. My heart is racing a mile a
minute with my sudden display of aggression. Catalina gasps loudly when I
bring my mouth to the soft, silken skin of her neck. I kiss her gently,
feeling her pulse throbbing against my lips.
“Don’t make fun of me, Pardo. It’s not nice,” I whisper, my nose
trailing up this delectable territory of hers. I inhale her delicious
scent without shame or regard. “God, you smell like candy.”
Gently removing my lips from her delicate skin I raise my head, my
eyes beseeching hers. Removing one hand from the wall, I allow it to
caress the skin of her jaw, my thumb tracing circles on the low of her
cheek.
Catalina’s shuddered breaths fuel me further. I move in closer and
feel the rising and falling of her chest with each breath she takes.
Ripples of desire roll through me, my cock twitching in my pants. She
looks at me, drunk with lust, and that gives me all the reassurance I
need. I would never pull this stunt on just any woman because it’s the
quickest way to get kicked in the balls. But my need for Catalina goes
beyond all reason.
Inching closer, my nose collides with hers. Her whole body tenses,
and a low moan escapes from her throat. When Catalina closes her eyes, I
let out a long-drawn breath.
“You’re unraveling me, Catalina.”
Catalina nods and lets out a sigh, her breath caressing my lips. She replies softly, “And you’re breaking me.”

About Imy Santiago
I
love to read stories about loss, heartache and redemption so it didn't
shock me when I ended up writing stories of my own revolving around
those themes. I write with my heart, using my life experiences and
emotions to dictate the tone and path in which my fictional characters
embark. I believe in the power of friendship and to always have hope
because life is always full of pleasant surprises. If you were to ask me
if I consider myself an author, I would tell you no, I am not. I'm just
a girl who loves to write a good story that makes you consider life
choices and the darkness that envelopes a broken heart. My stories are
about loss, friendship, hope and love.
I
hope to continue writing more books in the not so distant future. It
could be said that writing keeps me sane and brings a smile to my face.
When I’m not writing Adult Contemporary Romance novels, I’m enjoying a
quiet life with my family on Long Island New York.

Interview with Imy Santiago:
- Can you tell us a little about your book?
chasing
Reese. is my debut novel set to release on January 5, 2015. It is an
Adult Contemporary Romance that discusses how a person can find love
amongst loss. It also elaborates on diverse themes, such as:
Friendship, hope, and ultimately, love. Some of the subject matter
also discussed in the story: Depression, Anxiety and Panic Disorder
as well as Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.
chasing
Reese. was originally a screenplay I wrote back in October 2013
titled SAFELIGHT. After a few friends read it, they begged me to
re-write it in novel format. After five re-writes and countless
edits, it became chasing Reese. this is the first novel in the
SAFELIGHT Series. finding Reese. and saving Reese. are the remaining
books of the series and will be published in 2015 if all goes well.
- Using one sentence, describe chasing Reese?
chasing
Reese. is the story of three people who find love and friendship in
the most unexpected and surprising of circumstances.
- Do you have a favorite spot to write?
In
my current living situation, there is no favorite spot to write.
Wherever the laptop can be placed, that’s where I’ll write.
Whether it’s the dining table, the kitchen counter or on top of the
washing machine… It doesn’t matter where, just as long as I get
to give voice to the characters inside of my head.
One
day I dream of having an office, with walls where I can place
countless pictures of my muses and have lots of peace and quiet. A
girl can dream, right?
- When you write do you write the first draft on a computer or paper and pen?
I
wrote a short story one day at work back in 2013 when I was
completely bored. I used to work at a retail store and it was a quiet
night. I opened a blank document and started typing. That short story
later became the footprint for SAFELIGHT, and is now the Prologue of
chasing Reese.
- Do you listen to music while you write?
Absolutely!
Lately, I’ve had to wear headphones because the household has grown
tired of my writing playlist. I find that music, some songs in
particular, allow me to see what my characters are enduring. As a
frustrated screenwriter, if I can’t see the scene in my head
playing out like a movie, then I can’t write it. Music helps with
that immensely.
- When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I’ve
been writing since I was seven. I even wrote my first screenplay when
I was thirteen, but, it wasn’t after I was walking through Penn
Station in New York City that I stumbled on a certain book with a
silver tie on it. I committed the name to memory and after I read it,
I knew I needed to give voice to those characters lurking inside of
my brain for years. It’s bittersweet − it only took me two
decades to come to a decision. It’s a Capricorn thing. ;)
- How was it hitting publish in your first book?
It
was a mixture of excitement and fear. For years my family saw me as a
writer because I had notebooks full of poems, songs, screenplays and
short stories, but to have them see the adult content in my writing
made me cringe with worry. Has it been an easy process? No, but it
has been worth every single sacrifice and fight I’ve endured to
pursue this dream of becoming an established writer.
- What's one random fact about yourself that you can share?
I
am a preacher’s daughter. *insert shocked face here*
- Are you attending any author signing in 2015?
I
am pleased to answer this question. Indeed. My first EVER author
signing will take place in my backyard, New York City: Halos &
Horns Book Signing on March 21, 2015.
- What are writing projects are you currently working on?
I’m
currently 25K deep in the sequel to chasing Reese. aptly titled
finding Reese. (If you’ve read chasing Reese. then this title makes
complete sense).
Next
up will be saving Reese. This is the final installment of the
SAFELIGHT series, and then two other projects which I will withhold
from giving details other than their names: We Met on a Train and
Words in Isolation, which at this time are tentatively standalone
novels.
There
are also two projects that haven’t been ironed out completely: a
collaborative novel with a fellow Indie author and an Anthology with
some author friends of mine.
2015
will be a very busy year for me.
