Excerpts

SCENE FROM CHAPTER 12: ALL FOR HER (AMELIA’S POV)
Amelia
“Everything okay Hunter?” she asked, concerned by his pause. Something was bothering him, which was clear.
“Fine, Angel. A lot of stress lately,” he replied.
“From me?” she questioned, slowly. She didn’t want to cause him stress. She didn’t want their relationship to cause him stress.
“Amelia, of course not. Dealing with the Commander is the cause of the stress.” She gave him a small, sad smile. She was sad for him. His relationship with his dad wasn’t a father-son relationship, it was purely work. She never remembered not being close to her parents.
“Did you ever have a normal relationship with him?” She wanted to know. Learning more about Hunter was a top priority, even if he did have secrets.
“Yes and no. When I was young, there were moments, but most of the time he was grooming me. On the other side, though, my mom was reminding me that he was jaded and I needed to make my own conclusions about things.”
“Like me, my family, my world?” He nodded. She didn’t know how to take that just yet, but she was sure of one thing, “I’m glad you aren’t like him,” she whispered. He smiled and then picked her up, setting her next to him. She cocked a brow at him. He was up to something.
“I have a present for you Angel.” He jogged towards the steps. “Eyes closed,” he threw over his shoulder. She obeyed his little demand, playing along with him. He had gone to great lengths, it was the least she could do.
“You didn’t need to get me a present.” But he didn’t answer. She peeked through one eye.
“Close your eyes Angel!” he hollered from what she presumed was the bedroom.
“They are!” she hollered back. She closed her eyes tightly and leaned her head against the back of the couch, waiting in anticipation.
She heard his footsteps and when the stopped, she knew he was close by. She felt him kneel in front of her, his hand on her knees.
“Amelia, I want you to know how special you are to me. This present is about building our future.” He was speaking in a low voice. Her heart skipped a beat.
Her eyes still closed, “Too early for a proposal Hunter,” she laughed. He joined her. She liked that she could tease him. She could never tease Warren.
“I agree. Not ruling it out, but I agree.” He set something on her lap; she felt it move a little. “Open,” he demanded gently, and on then, on her lap, he was holding a kitten. ‘A kitten? Hunter got her a kitten?’
“You got me a kitten?” she questioned, stupidly. He just nodded and she began laughing. Hunter Jackson, a werewolf bought her a cat. “That’s absurd!” she laughed, snuggling the kitten against her.
“Why?” He stared at her in confusion.
“You’re a Werewolf, Hunter,” she said, as if that should be obvious.
“And…You don’t like it?” he frowned. She was offending him. She snapped back to reality. Her laughter stopped and she locked her eyes with his.
“I love the kitten. Thank you.” She pressed a kiss to his lips and he quickly deepened it.

CHAPTER 9: ONE MOMENT
Hunter
He watched as Amelia hung up the phone from Katrina without a goodbye. She didn’t say anything, she just snuggled herself close to him again. While he loved this, something was wrong.
“Tell me,” he whispered.
“The Commander is a bit suspicious,” she sighed.
Hunter jumped off the bed, fisting his hair. “Can’t I have one f**king moment?”
She sat on the bed and stared. “Hunter.”
“You need to go Angel,” his voice hard.
“Hunter?” she questioned. Hunter knew she was confused, but right now, this was about protecting her.
“Amelia, get f**king gone!” he hissed. He watched as she blinked away tears, got her stuff and left without another word.
Hunter slammed his hand against the wall as he watched, from the window, as her bike pulled away.
“F**king hell,” he stammered, grabbing up his phone to call Luke.
“Kirkland,” Luke snapped into the phone.
“Start talking man!” Hunter was on edge.
“He knows where you are. He’s coming.” Luke sighed.
“Somehow I knew that asshole. Yet you called Katrina first.” Hunter knew he was being an ass. He would have done the same thing. He would’ve called Amelia first too.
“You know damn well why I called her first Jackson, don’t be a f**king asshole. General or not, I will call you on your shit!” Luke snapped.
“Yea, sorry. I would’ve done the same,” Hunter said, trying to gain his composure. “Shit! He just pulled up and he’s not alone.” Luke disconnected them understanding Hunter completely. Hunter raced downstairs to meet his dad.
“Where the f**k is she Jackson?” His father was already in Werewolf form.
“Who?” Hunter threw back.
“Don’t f**king play games with me son!” he hissed, pushing past Hunter. He was quicker than his dad though in wolf form, so he changed and cut him off at the stairs.
“Hunter, I’m warning you,” he said, hard.
Hunter swapped back to human form. “Don’t know why the warning was needed. You wanted a plan pulled together in two months, I needed a clear head,” Hunter tossed.
“You better f**king arrest her in two months, or it will be your execution I’m planning, not hers.” Hunter remained as stoic as possible. His father left, and that moment, Hunter crumbled. Crying for the first time since his mom’s death. He hadn’t been expecting that his dad would want to execute her. He told Hunter he wanted her unharmed. Hunter assumed…F**k! He shouldn’t have assumed.

About this author:

I am a Paranormal/Fantasy Adult Romance Author
Now part of the Bayou Brew Publishing Family.

I’m twenty-eight years old, but will be twenty-nine in May. I am a Navy Wife and a mother of two. My daughter was born December 4, 2010 and my son was born July 18, 2013. My husband and I have been married for almost seven years, but we have been together since our junior year of high school and we have known each other since 8th grade, yes a long time.

I am a Florida girl at heart, but since getting married I have lived in Washington, South Carolina, and our latest move Connecticut. I hold a B.A. in Multimedia Journalism with a minor in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.

Writing is something I love and since I am blessed to be a stay at home mom I thought I would try my hand at getting the stories in my head out and see how far I could go. I tried a few years ago to go through a Literary Agency, but it went nowhere. The self-publishing market was just starting to get hot so I self-published two books mainly for family and friends. I then discovered the world of New Adult. I wanted to stick with my paranormal roots and began thinking up story ideas that took on not only a paranormal element, but a fantasy element as well

My Motto: Not your average Fairy Tales
So, that is me in a nutshell. I am a little crazy and simple and I love my life and my family. I’m thrilled to be part of the Bayou Brew Publishing Family.
