Charming Charlie
by Melissa Asleson
Synopsis:
Some things will always stick with you from a damaged childhood: heartache, abandonment, loss, betrayal-but also hope and love. Charlie has never lost hope and she has lots of love to share. This time she just wants to share it with the right person. Once again she is on her own so she immerses herself in her work where she is most comfortable. Being comfortable never lasts for Charlie though, and she is soon blindsided by her boss which changes her whole course. Her instincts are on high alert, as she navigates the new uncharted path she is steered upon.
To add to her new challenges, the intolerable Torrance Fuller has taken to hassling her. Charlie is familiar with Torrance’s obnoxious lifestyle and has been polite, but dismissive to him for the last five years for the sake of their mutual best friend. Torrance seems to have taken to regularly pestering her and his persistence begins to wear on her overloaded and fragile mind. She is feeling vulnerable and not at all comfortable with that feeling. In her past states of distress she has always relied on her instincts to lead the way. Her instincts are telling her to stay away from Torrance, she does not have room in her life for whatever little scheme he has brewing. But the more she is around him, the more she can see and feel a change from his old ways.
Putting some distance between them only brings them together. Sometimes the best things have always been right in front of you…or are they?
