You’ve laughed with
them. You’ve cried with them. Now it’s time to say goodbye to the Lanza
Family, in the final installment of The Riverdale Series.Luke Lanza is a man who has always done the responsible thing. He has faced a lot of challenging obstacles in his life; from raising his daughter on his own, to building a successful business, even being the only viable donor that could save his brother’s life. Knowing this about his brother and knowing that he was going to die, Jake asked him to look after the love of his life. Now Luke is torn between the promise he made to his brother and the pull of something he’s never known before.
“Promise me, I need to hear you say it, Luke.”
Luke swallowed. “I promise I’ll take care of Cara, you don’t have to worry about her.” A tear slipped down his cheek as he finished his vow to his little brother.
Jake smiled slightly and closed his eyes. “I could always count on you.”
Cara Sloane is struggling with the loss of her first love and the power of addiction. Jake had been her rock for so long, with him gone she realizes how broken she is. She doesn’t want to feel anything, least of all the emptiness in her heart.
“I know you’re at peace and I should be thankful for that, but I can’t be. I never realized what a selfish person I was. You were suffering and all I could do was pray for you not to leave me.”
A tragic accident leaves Luke and his family pleading with Cara to change the course of her life. Can Cara face her demons and learn there is life after Jake? Can she learn that she can hold onto to the beautiful memories they made together and still live her life?
“I don’t want to fix her because she’s broken.” He said with his own voice sounding a bit broken. “I want to help her because losing her too isn’t an option.”
Individually they try to heal, together they wonder if they can fit the pieces of their broken lives.
Jake's Journal: The Riverdale Series Companion (The Riverdale #3.5)
by
Janine Infante Bosco
If someone would’ve told Jake Lanza he would have ever kept a journal, he probably would’ve laughed in their face. Journals were for females. His sister had a journal. He would know, being as he stole it once and read all her deepest darkest teenage secrets. Yet, to his surprise when Nick gifted him a blank journal, he decided to give it a try.
Dear Diary,
Fuck. That don’t sound right. In fact it sounds kind of gay. Why don’t these books come with instructions? You know what? Fuck this.
Jake
(Because I think I’m supposed to sign my name)
During the most the darkest days and most trying times, Jake used his journal to expose the deepest thoughts he wouldn’t allow himself to say out loud. In this journal you will read the thoughts of a man fighting for his life. Read his letters to Cara as he pours out his heart and soul to her, through his works and drawings he wished to create. Discover the plans he had for his loved ones and the promises he left behind. Enjoy the legacy Jake Lanza left behind.

Dear
Mom,
I had a dream last night that you came
into my room while I was sleeping and kissed my cheek. You whispered against my
cheek that you wished you could kiss my illness away just like when I was a
little boy and you kissed away all my hurts. Isn’t it strange that when you’re
a little a kid you really believe your mom’s kisses heal all? The funny thing
is your kisses really did heal all. Every cut, scrape, or broken bone was
magically fixed by the touch of my mother.
Even now, you have that magic touch and while
you may not be able to heal my illness, today you healed my spirit. I came
upstairs and you were preparing my medication. You didn’t hear me creep up the
stairs so when I managed to make my way into the kitchen you were singing to
yourself. I didn’t know the song you were singing. I watched you for a moment,
silently. It dawned on me that some of things on my bucket list I wouldn’t be
able to fulfill. I will never dance with you at my wedding.
But I could dance with you today.
I walked up beside you and placed my hand
on your shoulder. You jumped, startled, and I laughed. You were about to yell
at me, no doubt because I had trooped it up the stairs without calling you, but
then you stopped yourself. You saw my smile and couldn’t help but hide your anger.
(You may have the magic touch mom, but I’m the one with the killer smile.)
I asked you if you would do me a favor. Of
course you would never deny me, so I asked you to dance with me. I can laugh
just thinking about the look on your face. You looked at me like I had six
heads. I get it. How could the man who can barely stand, the man who just crawled
up the stairs, how was he going to dance with his mom? Well, I’ll repeat your
own words back to you, mom. When there is a will there is a way. I’ve still got
a lot of will in me. Some days more than others, but still it’s there and today
it’s screaming to figure out a way to get that mother-son dance in.
I asked you if you could pick one song to
dance with me, what would it be? Without hesitation you replied, “Blessed” by
Elton John. I pulled my phone from my pocket and brought up the song on itunes.
It took a minute for the purchase and download to complete before I pressed
play. I placed the phone on the counter, holding out my hand to you, I asked
you to dance with me.
When I was a kid, you took my hand and
held it tightly in yours. I knew you’d never let go. Today, I took your hand in
mine and held on tightly. I’ll always be with you, mom.
The music began and I took you in my frail
arms, together we began to sway. I knew you were crying and when you dipped
your head to my shoulder I felt your fresh tears stain my shirt.
“Hey you, you’re a child in my head…Your
first words have yet to be said.
But I swear you’ll be blessed…”
I listened carefully to the song you chose
for us to dance to. A parent promising the world for their child. A child that
they had yet to meet but already had loved more than anything. A parent
promising to watch that child grow and prosper. A promise from a parent to
their child, that they would do their best for that child. A promise for a
blessed life.
I have been blessed, mom. I twirled you in
my arms and watched you smile as I dipped you. I am blessed because I have you.
Love
Always,
Your
son with the killer smile and sharp dance moves Jake
Illicit Temptations (Tempted Series #1)
by
Janine Infante Bosco
Michael Valente...My father was the Underboss of an organized crime family. He was murdered when I was a teenager leaving me broken. My mother died in a tragic accident, her death annihilated me. My life was in shambles until Victor Pastore, one of New York’s most notorious gangsters and my late father’s best friend, recruited me to work for him.
Everyone expected me to walk in my father’s shadow, to be the prodigal son, the next big thing to hit the mob. I was torn between filling those expectations and walking the straight line my mother wished I had. Nothing made sense and I felt as if I was just passing through life.
The only beacon of light in my otherwise dark world was the one girl that was off limits to me. The one girl who could bring me to my knees consuming my mind, body and soul.
She’s the sweetest temptation I’ve ever known and the most illicit.
Nikki Pastore....
My father’s a gangster. My boyfriend’s is the king of New York’s nightclubs. I am often labeled as Vic’s daughter or Rico’s girl, never just Nikki. I struggle for people to acknowledge me for the woman I am and not for the men in my life. I’m fighting a losing battle.
There is only one person who sees me for me, my Mikey.
He’s wild.
He’s reckless.
He’s hot as hell.
He’s completely unattainable, but oh so tempting.

“You
taking charge Princess?” He said, raising an amused eyebrow at me.
“What
if I am? Think you can handle it?” I said seductively as I leaned
down and took his lower lip between my teeth. His hands struggled to
break free, but I pushed them further into the mattress biting his
lip a little bit harder.
“Fuck,
Nikki.”
“Yeah,
that’s what I was thinking too.” I said as I ran my tongue along
his lip slipping it inside his mouth to taste him. I loved kissing
him because he treated the simple act as if it was a craft, and he
was a man who enjoyed his craft with each stroke of his tongue he
mastered the art of kissing. He kissed me proper he kissed me raw. He
kissed me until I forgot I had ever kissed anyone other than him.
“If
I let go of your hands, will you promise to behave?” I asked in
between kisses.
“No.”
He said through gritted teeth. I pulled away, shook my head in
disapproval.
“You’re
not playing by the rules Mikey.”
“I’m
playing by my rules and my rules require my hands all over you.”

Janine Infante Bosco lives in New York City, she has
always loved reading and writing. When she was thirteen, she began to

went on. At eighteen, she even wrote a full screenplay with dreams of

emphasis on family bonds, strong willed female characters, and alpha
male men who will do anything for the women they love. She loves to
interact with fans and fellow avid romance readers like herself.
She is proud of her success as an author and the
friendships she's made in the book community but her greatest
accomplishment to date would be her two sons Joseph and Paul.
Interview Janine Infante Bosco:
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
I published my first book last year titled Pieces and it is the first
book in a three part series called The Riverdale Series. The series
needs to be read in order because it doesn't just focus on a hero and
heroine in each book but instead focuses also on the entire Lanza
family. Jake Lanza is the heart and soul of the Riverdale Series, his
story carries on throughout the three books and this year I published
Jake's Journal: A Companion to The Riverdale Series that is full of his
journal entries that he scribed during his battle with cancer.
Illicit
Temptations is the polar opposite of The Riverdale series and it's the
first book of my new series called The Tempted Series. It can be read as
a stand alone. The common thread between Illicit Temptations and my
other books is the reality aspect as well as the emotionally charged
depiction of family. Illicit Temptations tells the story of Michael
Valente and Nicole Pastore both children of the mob who ultimately fall
in love. However it hasn't been easy for either of them, both of their
fathers have fell victim to the mafia one could only hope that they are
not destined for the same fate.
2. Can your series be read as standalones or do they need to to read in order?
The Tempted Series can be read as stand alones but the Riverdale Series cannot.
3. What book has been your favorite to write?
Each book I've written has an aspect I loved writing about that could
easily make them all favorites but the one that I hold close to my heart
is Jake's Journal. It was a struggle to get in the head of a man who is
fighting for his life and I wanted to portray the reality of the
struggle that people face. Jake's Journal has received so much positive
feedback giving me a sense of accomplishment while letting me provide
closure to both my readers and myself.
4. What book has been the most challenging to write?
Illicit Temptations has been my most challenging to write because I had
never written in the first person before. It took me a few times to get
the hang of writing a characters thoughts as if they were my own.
5. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I've always had a passion to write since I was a young girl but it
wasn't until last year that I decided I was going to chase my dreams
come hell or high water. It has been such a blessing to have people,
strangers, take a gamble on me and read my stories.
6. Do you ever experience writer’s block?
Of course I experience writers block I'm currently in writers block
purgatory with my current work in progress. To get out of the funk I
usually listen to the playlist I've created for the song, revisit the
pinterest page and try and focus on what my original plan was.
7. Do you work with an outline, or just write?
I do both, work with an outline and just write. With Illicit
Temptations I knew where I wanted the story to go so I would just write
but by three quarters in I developed a timeline to get the characters to
the end of their story. Its much easier to write with a timeline but if
it's coming to me I just go with what I've got.
8. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
I'll write anywhere but usually it's in the kitchen next to the coffee pot.
9. What do you do when you are not writing?
When I'm not writing I am spending time with my two little boys Joseph
and Paul, taking in a baseball game or watching Mikey Mouse Clubhouse. I
also work in retail part time.
10. What writing projects are you currently working on?
I am currently working on the second book in The Tempted Series.
Forbidden Temptations is Adrianna Pastore and Anthony Bianci's story and
their story is going to be very emotionally charged. What happens when
the love of your life chooses the mob over you? #GetTempted
