Born and raised in Connecticut, one of Katie's passions has been writing and finding ways to be creative. She's been practicing dental hygiene for 10 years and received her Masters in Dental Hygiene in 2016. Katie trulyloves working in public health and teaching in the community. Her husband and Katie are fur-parents to two dogs and two cats -- her family means everything to her. Katie has always loved working with children and educating people, so she decided to bring one of her ideas to life. It's been an amazing journey for her creating books.Katie loves nature, animals, vineyards, and Hallmark movies! She started writing romance and fell in love with how much she enjoyed creating these characters and their stories. And shes hope you do too! Interview With Katie:

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?

I write romance suspense and childrens books. My romance books - The Vineyard Collection - are always including wine and animals- I love animals especially rescues. I also love wine! It's a dream to own a vineyard one day. My adult books always have a strong female character - I love to create a place for my readers to escape to and be inspired by. The characters usually go through something and come out stronger- or work through learning self love, self care and letting people in and of course romance! Paw Elementary is my children's book series and it's about my beloved dog Roxy who passed away in 2017 from cancer. The books help children tackle fearful firsts by giving parents an outlet to introduce the child to before actually experiencing it. The hope is to make the experience a positive one instead of a scary one. Each book has an encouragement card to accompany it- Be Brave, Share Positivity, Get Creative, and Have Courage are the four out right now. I have two stuffed animals and stickers that go with the books as well! Each character is an animal from my past or present whether they are mine or my family/friends.

 

2. What inspires you to write?

 I love writing, especially when I feel it can help make an impact in a persons life. It also is very enjoyable to me. It is therapeutic and love to write when I'm in the bath!

3. Is Roxy based on a real dog? 

Yes. I had her for 12 years. She was my first fur child and my best friend. I miss her dearly!

4. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured? 

I usually write early in the morning or when I'm in the bath at night. It really depends on how the book is flowing. Some days I write all day. Some times its a little here and there each day.

 

5. Do you have a favorite food or drink you must have nearby when writing? 

 Coffee!!!!!! and dont usually eat when I'm writing. I get to distracted.

6. Do you have a favorite spot to write? 

The bath tub lol or the corner couch in my living room are my writing spots.

 

7. If you had a superpower, what would it be? 

To save all the dogs and children- stop the abuse.

8. What writing projects are you currently working on? 

I'm currently writing my second romance novel and working on a soundtrack for Paw Elementary.
