RELIC HUNERS SERIES
Relic
Hunters is a treasure seeking adventure series in which historical
tales are interwoven with modern days adventures.
Adam Hunter and his team investigate myths and legends, tracking down
powerful artefacts and facing deadly and often supernatural foes.
RELIC HUNTERS: BLOOD OF THE DRAGON
An
urgent plea for help leads Adam Hunter and the Relic Hunters to the
ruins of Poenari
Castle in Romania. In the former home of the most infamous
mass-murderer in history, Vlad the Impaler, they find that history and
myth collide more than ever before.
As
their actions lead to the return of an evil long-thought banished to
the pages of fiction, Adam and his team soon find that they are not the
hunters, but the hunted. The darkness pursues them across the globe and
nowhere, not even the British Museum itself,
is safe.
One by one they fall until only Adam remains, facing the horrifying wrath of the Blood
of the Dragon alone. Can he save his friends and survive the greatest fight of his life or has Adam’s luck finally run out?

About Martin Ferguson:
I
live in Norwich, England and am currently working on the young adult
adventure and historical series 'Relic Hunters'. Inspired by the myths
and legends my parents told
me as a boy and with the help of my ever-suffering wife, a teacher and
history graduate, 'Eagle of the Empire' was the first entry in the
'Relic Hunters' series.
When
not writing, I am training or at least planning my next challenge.
Following
a serious knee injury, I was told by surgeons never to run or play
sports again. Stubborn and reckless, much like the characters in my
writing, I have not listened and have completed the Three Peaks
Challenge, the Great North Run, the Greater Manchester Marathon
and the London Marathon.

Interview With Martin Ferguson:
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
My books are the Relic Hunters series. Relic Hunters, is a Young Adult adventure series, drawing on the myths and legends of different time periods and blending them with thrill-seeking action in the modern age. The adventures are focussed on 17 year old Adam Hunter as he joins a specialist team of treasure hunters and sets out to uncover the greatest myths and legends of our world.

2. What inspires you to write?
I was brought up on tales of legends and myths. King Arthur, Robin Hood, the Trojan Horse, the Pharaohs of Egypt. I always knew that one day I would write my own stories. When I was at school we would be set story writing as a homework task. Two pages was the requirement, but I would write up to twenty sometimes (the teacher’s remarks were hilarious). Now, I am writing my own stories and bring to life those very myths and legends I was told as a boy.

3. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
With Blood of the Dragon I have now released four books, all in the Relic Hunters series. Curse of the Sands is my favourite of the lot. This is the second book in the Relic Hunters series and pits Adam and his team of Relic Hunters against rival teams from around the world as they enter a long-lost pyramid filled with traps and trials for our heroes.

The
first book, Eagle of the Empire, is the entry into the series and
establishes who the characters are and the setting. Book two, Curse of
the Sands, lets loose those characters
to run and play in the world I created. It was the most fun to write
and reading it back it remains my favourite.
4. Do you have a special time to write or how is your
day structured?
My day isn’t structured at all! I have a day-job, working
for the NHS. I also have waiting for me when I come home a manic, hyper 2 year old daughter and a newborn boy (born 2nd May). I write during any small window I can find – be it a lunch break, a midnight
feed or during the early hours when I really should be sleeping or going out for a run.
5. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
Location
doesn’t really matter to me. It could be in
a park, library, breakroom at work or simply at home on the sofa. What
matters more is that I am able to have music playing. Music plays a huge
part in motivating my writing, especially when it comes to writing
action scenes. A good set of headphones and an
epic playlist are more important to me than where the words are
written.
6. What's one random fact about yourself that you can
share?
Despite
having a ruining my knee threes ago and being
told by surgeons that I would never run again, I have been able to
return to sport and run the Great North Run, the Manchester Marathon and
finally the London Marathon last year.
7. If you had a superpower, what would it be?
Flight. I wanted to be a pilot when I was young. To be able to soar amongst the clouds would be something else and a sure-fire way to escape it all. It would save a fortune on airplane tickets and holidays too!

8. What writing projects are you currently working on?
I
am working on book six in the Relic Hunters series. That’s right, that
wasn’t a mistake. Although book four is only just coming out, I have
already finished book five. No idea
on release date though for either of them as they are both have a long
way to go. The optimist in me says some point this year (2020) but lets
see how this very strange and unexpected year pans out.
