Impress Her, Possess Her
Heroes of Neoma Books 1 & 2
Sheridan Knight

On Nysa, women exist solely as recreation for men.

Calliope dreams of escaping Nysa, traveling to Earth and living free. Her plans are thwarted when she ends up placed with a dedicated soldier as his plaything. Regardless of her developing feelings for Amerrande, she knows she must not let anything get in the way of her plans to escape, and after a terrifying attempt and hazardous journey, she reaches Earth – only to discover freedom is not long lasting, as Amerrande is sent to find and execute her.

Phaedra has one purpose: service assignment soldiers for one month in whatever capacity they desire. Her doctor sedates and forces her to leave for the desecrated and disease-ridden Earth, followed by transport to Neoma, the frozen death planet. His plan was to save her from a life of servitude and offer her a freedom she wouldn’t have had. But all isn’t as it seems. And when Phaedra learns to see and trust with her heart and not her eyes, she will risk not only her life, but the life of the man she wants to share it with.

Heroes of Neoma is a two book collection consisting of Charm Him, Disarm Him and Impress Her, Possess Her. Both books read as standalones and have a HEA.

Publisher’s Note: These steamy sci-fi, apocalyptic romances contain elements of action and adventure, and power exchange.

Excerpt 2:
The pressure of his fingers on her upper arm hurt. She felt the bruise forming. “Alistair, you are hurting me.” She turned to look at him, but he stared straight ahead, not acknowledging her. She swore his grasp strengthened. “I said you are hurting me.” Still no reaction, so she planted her feet causing him to run into her pushing her forward. His clutch prevented a face-plant, but he gripped harder. Determined to impede his progress and relinquish his hold, she halted, but he pushed her along. Her feet dragged and slid against the floor.
Not the reaction she aimed for, but he released her arm, picked her up and slung her over his shoulder. She kicked, wiggled, and pounded her fists on his back. That earned her several blows to her backside. With her midsection slamming into his shoulder bone with each swat, her breath left her.
“What, Phaedra? At a loss for words all of a sudden?” He landed two more in quick succession. Slamming the door open to their room, he sat on the bed and turned her from his shoulder to across his knees. Lifting her gown, he continued his assault. “Did you think there would be no consequence for your disobedience? If you did you were sadly mistaken.”
Alternating cheeks assisted in her ability to draw in a breath every so often, but the force behind his spanks didn’t lessen. Tears sprung from her eyes, and her bottom cheeks stung unlike anything she ever felt before. How long this went on, and how many swats she received, she had no idea. Her back end burned to the point she couldn’t take another strike. Fighting for a breath, she inhaled deeply and released a howl of anguish and admission.
His onslaught ceased. She sobbed. His hand still on her rear, he caressed it. Gently and thoroughly, he rubbed the sore areas. It felt good, his huge warm palm massaging her sensitive flesh. Feelings of safety and comfort besieged her. She sniffled and allowed herself to fall limp across his lap, savoring this attention. Even her mind relaxed, and she jerked when his quiet voice broke the silence.
“You need to eat before you fall asleep.” He put his hands on her waist and rolled her into his chest. Cradling her, he put his face in her hair and whispered in her ear. “You put yourself in a risky situation. Imagine if I had not been in the kitchen, Phaedra.”
Taking a deep breath, she thought about it. She didn’t like it. She didn’t like being naked in front of men she didn’t know. It made her uncomfortable and scared. Imagining having their hands on her and fulfilling the role her training taught her, gave her a feeling of worthlessness.
Sliding his hand up and down her arm, he asked, “Should we try this again? Do you still wish to wash up before breakfast?”
Thinking she probably looked a mess with her tear-stricken face she nodded into his chest. Hot water on her aching rear didn’t excite her senses, but she could look better even if she didn’t feel it.
Lifting her up, he stood her between his knees and smoothed out her gown. He took her face in his big hands and held her eyes. “I want to keep you safe. Let’s go.” Again, she saw the green flecks dancing in the boring brown of his eyes. It mesmerized her. With her face close to his, she felt and smelled his breath. It was a most pleasant aroma. Discounting his appearance, most everything else about him she found appealing. This confused her. And, his words resonated in her mind. He wants to keep me safe. To this point, he hadn’t given her any reason to doubt that. Besides taking her from Nysa and bringing her to Earth, that is.
Arriving at the washroom, once again, she professed, “Thank you, Alistair for removing me from the dining hall. I realize I should have followed your instructions, and I won’t venture out on my own again.”
Grinning, it revealed his nasty looking teeth, but she stared at his lips. They were full and she imagined feeling them on hers. What is wrong with me? “Everything you need should still be in there where you left it. I’ll meet you back in the room with breakfast.”
His comment made her smile. Progress. He trusted her to wash alone and return to their room on her own. Without defying him leading her thoughts, she acknowledged this little taste of freedom, she liked it.

About Sheri Lynn / Sheridan Knight:

Impress Her, Possess Her are my first two books under the name, Sheridan Knight.  I also write as, Sheri Lynn.
I grew up an Army brat, so my childhood involved moving every three years. However, truly a southern gal, I currently split my time in Alabama and Florida with my husband, two Chihuahuas, two Golden Retrievers, a mean cat, and a turtle.  I have two sons, who live on their own, a daughter in college, and a stepson and stepdaughter.
Romance novels have always been my first reading choice. I'm a hopeless romantic, and that trait materializes in every aspect of my life. “Wearing your heart on your sleeve” has been a common phrase repeatedly heard throughout my life. Writing romance and happily ever afters comes naturally.
Whether a result of my childhood, or not, I love to travel. Warm weather and beautiful beaches are always my choice destination.

Interview with Sheri Lynn / Sheridan Knight:

   1.     Can you tell us a little about your books?
All of my books are romance, some more steamy than others, and not all involve spanking.  I write contemporary, vampire, futuristic.  I write what speaks to me.  I didn’t originally start out writing “spanking romance,” but the publisher I met at a conference in New York wanted my book and that’s what they publish.  I found that I like writing it.  It certainly creates instant tension in a story.  All of my books have a HEA, and even if they are connected can all be read as standalones.

    2.     How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I’ve been involved in several anthologies that are no longer available and I haven’t released several of them as single titles yet.  So, I have a lot of short reads available.  And now that I’m using two pen names, it makes it difficult promoting them as one pen is new.  Again, the publisher wanted me to release my sci-fi/futuristic series under a different pen.  To answer the question, 14 in all.

   3.     Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?
I sit down every afternoon around 4 pm and write until after 6 or 7.  I write in the mornings too, but afternoons outside with coffee is my routine.  I play catch-up and promo in the mornings mostly.

   4.     How do you come up with your characters names?
For my futuristic series I used Greek names.  I don’t recall why I went that direction, but that’s what I did.  If I have characters of a certain nationality, I search for correlating names.  I also search names in a certain time period if needed for anything historical.  Other than anything special required, I decide on one that suits their personality.

5. If you could be friends with one of your character, which one would you chose?
All of them.  Seriously.  The major characters anyway.  If I don’t like them or find some redeeming quality, how can I expect readers to?

6.   If you had a superpower, what would it be?
This question stumped me.  I’ve had to think on it.  I would want the powers to heal.  I can’t stand to see anyone or anything hurting or suffering.

7. If someone who hasn't read any of you books yet, which one would you suggest they read first?
The Heart Facts is a 2 book series.  The Heart Won’t Forget is book 1.  The Heart Will Lead is book 2.  These were two of the easiest to write for me.  Even though The Heart Won’t Forget went in a totally different direction than I first planned.

8. What  writing projects are you currently working on?
I have a couple of anthology stories I’m contracted for.  I’m finishing book 3 in The Heroes of Neoma series.  I have at least three other projects about 50% complete (one being book 2 in The Eternal Gift series).
