About Ally Vance:

Ally Vance has been writing since she was fourteen years old when she started writing stories, and then branched off into poetry for about eight years.

Ally studied Professional Writing at university and this led her to starting her very first review blog, Ally’s Book Reviews. She runs it alongside writing and will continue to do so.

Ally is married with a stepson, living in the United Kingdom.

 Interview With Ally Vance:

1. Can you tell us a little about your books?

I write primarily dark romance known for passionate darkness and intense villains. No matter what anyone reads of mine I always hope to elicit strong emotions. I'll be switching things throughout the year with varied darkness. I primarily write MF but as I'm one half of the duo Ally Michelle I'll also have a MM book coming out next year.  

2. What inspires you to write?

Anything can inspire me, sometimes I'll take a theme or idea and run with that, dreams on occasion, sometimes the craziest conversations with my friends can give me ideas.

3. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?

I don't have a special time or structure to my days, I just write when I can. Of an evening I'll often sprint write with my author friends, Michelle Brown, Murphy Wallace, Missy Ann and M.R. Leahy. The time zones kill me as I'm 4-5 hours ahead of them so 3am bedtimes are almost a norm now.

4. Do you have a favorite spot to write?

At the kitchen table tends to be where i can be found with my laptop, but sometimes in my bedroom.

5. How do you come up with your characters names?

If I'm playing with themes I like to choose names with meaning, other times I just go with whatever sounds right at the time, and sometimes I use my friends (and enemies) names into the stories. For example, in my story in Just Breathe Anthology called Ignite, the main character is called Aiden which means little fire, and his story revolves around his pyromania.

6. If you could be friends with one of your character, which one would you chose?

Probably Mica from Fractured Darkness, her story is one of the most difficult I've written and I want to hug the hell out of her.

7. Do you have a release day tradition?

Freak out? I've only had one solo release so not yet, but I love release parties and being part of them, so I'll probably throw one every time I have a release.

8. If your fairy godmother waved her wand and whisked you away to the location of your choice, which place would you choose?

That's a tough one! Rome is on my bucket list of places to go to, but due to one of the places my characters in 'Evelina' go to I have added Moscow and Russia to the list, especially as I've heard from a friend of mine who lives there that it's a beautiful country, and after seeing some photos online, WOW. Also the US because then I can meet and hug my girls Michelle, Renee, Murphy, Missy and Megan. 

9. What writing project are you currently working on?

I'm currently finishing up 'Evelina' for release next year, and I'm also making the final touches to 'Fractured Darkness' and 'In Plain Sight'

I've also got a few secret things I'll be starting on soon for next year. It's going to be a busy one!
