CHASING THE WILD SPARKS (It's FREE):


Throwing down the marriage gauntlet has never been so wild.
Thirty-something paralegal, Hadley Beckett and charismatic, local sportscaster/daredevil, Finn Wilder, disagree about how they should share their lives together. Having been together for three years, Finn increasingly pressures Hadley to move in with him, but being unusually traditional, she wants to be married first, adhering to her moral beliefs, just as he clings to his own religious upbringing when it comes to procreating with her. Each is unwilling to negotiate or concede marriage to the other.
Complicating matters is Finn’s seemingly double life, keeping his private life hidden to the point of convincing his viewers—Finnatics—and even his coworkers, he’s single, amid Hadley’s objections. Yet despite their immense disparities, they are determined to make their relationship work, even if it means Hadley has to take their future into her own hands.
Then again, Finn Wilder has his own story to tell.

Yeah. I’m none of that crap.
Okay. I’m a man. There’s that much.
Almost everyone calls me Rod, whether I like it or not. I’m the guy others look to for a laugh, a dirty joke, a distraction—the office clown. Even my best friend, Hadley, laughs.
It’s just that, I’m not always laughing. Not even on the inside. Nobody knows the real Greg or the agony I hide with humor. My recently dead sister had a clue, but she’s in no position to blab. I screwed up big time—then and now—but it’s all my undoing. Through everything, Hadley’s been my cure and my curse. And I fell in love with my married best friend. But she wasn’t always married, and I wasn’t always broken.
I had a millisecond of a chance, but I blew it, siding with morality. What guy does that? And sailing that sinking ship all the way down, I sacrificed my wants for her needs. Doing that, I fathered a kid with the office trouser troll. Stupid? Hell to the yes. Because now, regardless of the grand total, I want something I can’t have. Integrity and my sanity be damned.

Ren Alexander was born in Wheeling, West Virginia. She graduated from West Liberty University, where she received a B.S. in criminal justice. Although interested in that field, her true passion was reading and writing. She currently lives in Detroit, Michigan with her husband, two daughters, and two cats.

Interview With Ren Alexander:
 
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?

I have the Wild Sparks series and then The Keys to Jericho and UNSCREWED, which are both linked to Wild Sparks. My books are about how love either endures or disintegrates from either miscommunication or by actions. Every single book has to do with a relationship and how outside forces can influence it, be it internal and external, family and friends, good or bad. It also shines a realistic light on how immature adults really are when it comes down to it. We often judge others or even characters in a book for being immature, but if you just look at social media for two minutes, you'll see proof that we're just big kids with a mortgage and a car payment.
 

2. What inspires you to write?

Mostly songs that I mash together to form a story. The songs are then used for the book's playlist.
 

3. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I just released my seventh book. My favorite? Ahh! I love them all, but it's a three-way tie between Beckoning the Wild Sparks, The Keys to Jericho, and UNSCREWED.
 

4.  For a reader who hasn't read your books yet, which book do you suggest they start with?

That's such a hard question to answer. It depends how the reader wants to attack it, I suppose. For me and for maximum shock and awe, I'd go with how they were written:

5. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?

I don't write all the time. My books are so complicated and LONG. Once i write and publish I take a few months off to regroup before I start the next one. Although, the first three were written as one big book split into three. And they're still huge.
 

6. Do you have a favorite spot to write?

My office in the dark with my music.
 

7. If you had a superpower, what would it be?

I wish I could write faster like other authors.
 

8. What are writing projects are you currently working on?

The next book after UNSCREWED, which is UNHINGED. It's going to be epic.
