Elodie Colt!!
A Flare Of Hope, Book#1 in The Jaylior Series
She represented his own personal hell, yet she was his only chance of salvation...
Haylie was evolutionary perfection. One of a few hundred in the world. Even the color of her eyes was so rare, it had its own name—jaylior.
They hunted her. They wanted her dead. And when they attacked, a boy saved her in exchange for his life. Another murder happening in front of her eyes. Brutally killed, just like they killed her sister. How the hell should she go on with her life, knowing their deaths were her fault?
Dylan was the best Fighter in the compound. As second-in-command, he had a decent life with friends he considered family and women queuing up for one taste of him.
Everything changed when Ricky got killed because he saved a Natural—the rarest human species on earth. Dylan devoted his life to protect them and failed—twice. Two women he could have saved but lost.
And then came this girl—incredibly, the third Natural who crossed his path. He should protect her, but how could he when all he craved was revenge in Ricky’s name? When each time he looked into her jaylior eyes he was reminded of his failures and the agonizing realization that if he hadn’t been able to protect the others, how on earth was he going to protect her?

About Elodie Colt:
First
things first—I'm not an English native speaker. I live in a boring
little town on the outskirts of Vienna, Austria, so probably very far
away from you! I'm an avid reader and have been reading English books my
entire life. When I write, I can't think in my mother tongue anymore.
For a long time, this was the reason I refused to take that leap of
faith into publishing, because I feared I could never compete with the
others. A year later, I decided it was worth the risk, and now here I
am... Crazy!
I’m
a hybrid steamy/erotic romance author. Doesn’t matter if contemporary,
paranormal, dystopian, or urban fantasy—I write & read them all!
Relationship
status—living happily with my boyfriend, not married and no kids, yet. I
have a fulltime job in marketing and wish to make a living as an
author. Let's see how this will turn out in the future...
I'm
too organized. Everything has its place, everything is planned. Also,
I’m always busy and looking for work, which is pretty exhausting
sometimes.
I'm a music hoarder. My
playlist spreads over every genre and is organized very neatly. I play
piano and guitar pretty well, but I’m just playing at home for fun. I
love to sing in my car. Dancing is my secret hobby. If I could turn back
time, I'd build a street dance crew, but this ship has sailed, lol.
I
have an uncanny talent for remembering faces and names, but I’m shitty
when it comes to directions. I'm not kidding you, I can get lost
everywhere, especially on ski slopes!
I
don't function without my morning cup of coffee—Café Latte to be
precise. I love movies, my Kindle Reader, snowboarding, wakeboarding and
sunbathing. I hate The Simpsons (I know, I’m probably the only person in the world, but I just can’t warm up to them), zombie movies, and fish (as in the food—got sick once and can't touch that stuff ever since).
My
biggest idol is Stephanie Hudson, author of the Afterlife Saga. I've
never read such mind-blowing books in my entire life. I dream of
visiting her someday and just talk with her about how she invented such
an epic story. So, Stephanie, if you read this, please let me know, and
I'm on the next flight to the UK!
That's
pretty much the short version of it. If you want to know more or have
the feeling you need to stalk me, find me on the usual platforms.

Interview With Elodie Colt:
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
My
books vary from paranormal (The Jaylior series) to dystopian (In Blood
We Trust) to contemporary (The Heed Me Novellas) but all of them have a
good amount of steamy romance :) I love slow-burn romances where it
takes time and effort for the two people to find their way to each
other. I always try to find fresh approaches and new storylines, so
Fifty Shades or the usual billionaire stories are not in my repertoire.
In a time where there are so many books competing with each other, you
have to find ways to give your readers something new.
2. What inspires you to write?
I
find inspiration everywhere—in movies, in books, in music, in my entire
life. When you are an author, you start to “think in books” all the
time. When I see an action movie, I watch the fight scenes closely and
try to get ideas for my story. When I listen to a song, I pay close
attention to the lyrics. When I watch people, I try to think of ways how
I could use their personality for my characters. This way, I can give
my readers real-life experiences and at the same time write about things
I love.
3. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
By now, I’ve published 7 books with the 8th coming out in July 2018 (Hunt Me, Book3 in the Heed Me Novellas) and the 9th
(A Flare Of Love, Book4 in the Jaylior Series) already in the making.
Unbelievable if I think back to when I started to write which was about 2
years ago. It’s hard to say which is my favorite because all of them
are my babies, but if I had to choose, I’d say my favorite is my debut
novel In Blood We Trust—a dystopian romance. I simply love futuristic
stories and I’m pretty inventive when it comes to things I imagine could
exist in the future. I always try to stay as close to reality as
possible and try to give reasonable explanations as to why things are as
they are. My readers love that, and this is also why In Blood We Trust
was quite successful so far. Dystopian Romance is a difficult genre
because it’s a small niche and something in between SciFi and
Paranormal. It was a huge challenge in the beginning to find readers,
but a lot of my Paranormal Romance fans got hooked by the story and
already asked me to write a second book.
4. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?
Recently,
I’ve gone from a full-time job to part-time, so now I have more time
for writing. I try to do all the book stuff before or after going to
work with going through all the emails and online stuff in the morning
and writing in the afternoon or in the evening. As I also produce my
audiobooks myself, it’s quite a struggle to find the time to record
books AND write books, but if you love what you do like I do, you always
find the time 😊
5. Do you have a favorite food or drink you must have nearby when writing?
I
don’t eat when I write because it’s too distracting. Maybe some
chocolate from time to time but then I have chocolate fingers and get my
keyboard dirty :D A Café Latte in the morning is a must but other than
that, I only have a glass of water on my desk.
6. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
The
spot I write the most is in my office on my computer with its two
monitors. I tend to have dozens of tabs open when I write—the
dictionary, Google, YouTube, or whatever else I need for my research.
This works best on my desk. If I’m very tired, I also write on the couch
with my notebook, but that also depends on what I’m currently working
on. I’m a lot faster working on my computer but sometimes it’s just a
more comfortable to chill on the couch J
7. For a reader who hasn't read your books yet, which book do you suggest they start with?
That
depends on the genre the reader prefers. My Jaylior series are
full-length Paranormal Romance/New Adult novels, and my Heed Me series
are Contemporary Romance novellas. IN BLOOD WE TRUST is a Dystopian
Romance standalone. I have a variety of books so I can offer readers a
lot of different stuff. Some only stick to one genre, some are open to
reading everything I write.
8. If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I
think a superpower I’d really like to have would be to go back in time
and relive beautiful memories. To see from another perspective how you
were ten or twenty years ago, the people you met, and the experiences
you made. A reality video experience, so to speak. That would be
awesome!
9. What writing projects are you currently working on?
Well,
my first priority is to get both of my series finished first. Right
now, I’m working on the last book in the Jaylior series as I promised my
fans to get it done by the end of the year. At the same time, I’m
working on recording my first audiobook which takes about as much time
as writing a new book—really exhausting but super fun, too! After that, I
want to finish the last two books in the Heed Me novellas. If
everything goes as planned, I’m done with all that next year, so fingers
crossed!
