Interview With Skye McNeil
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
I
love romantic suspense and the majority of the books I write are that
genre. I think it's my favorite type to write, though I do write
historical and contemporary romance as well. With twists, turns, and OMG
moments, I feel right at home. When I read, I like to keep guessing
what will happen. The same happens when I write. Sometimes the story
veers way off and it's so fun to see where the characters go.
I knew I wanted to write a book when I was seventeen years old and I did! It was the start of an incredible journey. One I wouldn't give up for anything. Writing connects me to readers in a way I'd never dream of. I am a bit of a bookworm, so the thought that one of my stories could span oceans was (and is) very cool.
3. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I've written around 20 full-length books over eleven years. As to my favorite, I can't choose just one! They're all my favorite for their own reasons. Though, lately, I'm quite fond of the Mobster Files series.
4. Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?
I usually don't put aside time to write. It happens naturally or not at
all. When inspiration hits, you better believe I have my handy dandy
notebook nearby to jot down notes, scenes, or random thoughts. I love
the freedom that comes with writing since there is no set structure when
it comes to stories.
5. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
One
of my favorite spots to write is my chaise by the large bay window in
the living room. Lots of light streams in and I can enjoy a breeze while
I write. Plus, my cat and dogs love the extra room on the chaise to
'help' me write.
If you're into romantic suspense, I'd definitely suggest Appointed By Fate. This book is filled with unexpected suspense, super hot guys, lawyers, and an ending you don't see coming. If you like romance with a dash of comedy, I'd suggest Timberline. One reader likened it to a mix of The Proposal and The Wedding Date.
7. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
I think I'd like the power to teleport, so I can see the amazing things in the past and the future.
8. What are writing projects are you currently working on?
Right now, I'm working on books three and four of the Mobster Files. I'm also writing a couple other books for two other series.
Thank you!
