Battler (Battler #1)
by C.L. Masonite

For years I have been cast away—afar, out of reach, out of sight, out of mind. But now I’m back. I’ve been brought back into the fold, and I don’t know why. But I’ll find out, no matter the cost. I’ll also break free from the shark infested waters littered with those that seek to restrain me, to keep me in line—my ex, my father, my mother, my sister. And as for the Wolfe twin brothers, I’ll take them on. And I’ll take them out too. Drasko Wolfe thinks that he’ll make me his—but I am all mine. If he thinks I am going to be just another conquest, and do things at his behest then he may do so at his own coroner’s inquest. I am not just fighting for my survival, I am fighting for my little brother’s protection, and that makes me doubly motivated and doubly dangerous. I—Riletta Kasonite will best them all and come out on top. I will bow those who seek to hurt me to my will until they renounce their lies—until they come clean and their secrets are exposed. Until I get what I want.

WARNING: Contains countless confrontations, not to mention mature, young adult/ adult situations too.

Interview with C.L Masonite:

1   Can you tell us a little about your book?

Battler is the first book of 2 books about a teenage girl and her dysfunctional family and two hot twin brothers that raze delicious hell in her life.

2   Using one sentence, can your describe Battler?

Battler is dramatic, full of confrontations and the battles of a scorching, love-hate relationship.

3   If your book were made into a movie, who do you picture playing Drasko, Riletta  and Trent ?

  Riletta: Jessica Stroup

  Drasko: Liam Hemsworth (swoon worthy)

  Trent: Matt Lanter (bad boy)

4   When did you know you wanted to write a book?

Last year I began to jot down any phrases or words or ideas that would come to mind and when a story began to form I decided to do the whole shebang and I’ve loved every crazy/thrilling minute of it since!

5   How did you choose the genre you write in?

My favorite genre has always been Young Adult/New Adult Romance and I loved the idea of writing a coming to age story.

6   Do you have a favorite spot to write?

My favorite spot would definitely have to be sitting on my comfy mini couch chair in the corner of my bedroom with my laptop on my lap.

7   Do you listen to music while you write?

Yes! I always have Ed Sheeran playing in the background. I find his music so inspiring and soul touching.

8   What is a usual writing day like for you, how is it structured?

I write very erratically – whenever inspiration hits. I’ve got a basic plot but with many holes so I can write wherever the story takes me.

9   If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

   Definitely the ability to fly!

10   What are writing projects are you currently working on?

I’m currently working on Book 2, Battleground (the second and final follow up book for Battler) that I’m planning to release mid-November.
