Summer Fling (Players of Marycliff University, Book 1):

One summer is all they have …

A chance encounter at a party brings Lance and Abby together.

Lance just graduated and has a summer internship. His parents expect him to come back to Texas to work in the family business at the end of the summer. He likes to have fun and doesn't want to be tied down too soon. Until he meets Abby.

Abby still has two years left of college and a mom who keeps her anchored near the town where she grew up. She is cautious in relationships, not letting people close. But Lance's persistence wears down her defenses. Knowing Lance is leaving, Abby tells herself it's just a summer fling.

Will that be enough to keep her from falling in love?

Convenient Fall (Players of Marycliff University, Book 2)

Sleeping with your roommate is a bad idea, right?

Megan Davidson is scrambling to find a new place after Abby, her roommate and best friend decides to move in with her boyfriend Lance.  With just a week until classes start, the open spot left in Lance’s old house looks like her best option.  She moves in with Matt and Chris, shameless flirts and notorious players.

Chris Watkins first met Megan at their Fourth of July party over the summer, and he’s wanted her ever since.  She’s now tantalizingly close, and he doesn’t want to keep his hands to himself, even if it’s the worst idea ever.  Chris doesn’t do relationships, but once with Megan just isn’t enough.

With ground rules in place, it seems like everything’s working out fine.  But will Chris’s history catch up to him and ruin everything?

Interview With Jerica MacMillan:

1. Can you tell us about your books?
I have four books out right now in two series, the Rebound Series and the Players of Marycliff University series.  The Rebound Series is contemporary romance, and they're all of novellas, so they're pretty short reads.  The first book, Rebound Therapy, is free on all major ebook retailers.  Players of Marycliff University is New Adult romance, and they're all full length novels.  Both series are made up of interconnected stand alone books, so you don't have to read them in order, though I think they're probably more enjoyable if you do.  The couples from the first books make appearances in later books in both series.  The third Rebound book is coming out July 25, and I'm currently working on the third book in Players of Marycliff University.  I'm hoping to get that out in October or November.  I'll get a firmer date once it's actually written all the way.

2.  Do you have a favorite character to write about?
No, not really.  I like them all for different reasons.  That probably sounds like a copout answer, but it's true.  I have a terrible time picking favorite anything--color, food, book.  Asking me to pick a favorite character (that I've written) is like asking me to pick a favorite child.  I just can't.

3. For a reader who hasn't read your books yet, which book do you suggest they start with?
Either Rebound Therapy or Summer Fling, since they're both the first books in their respective series.  But really, you could start with any of them and be fine.

4. When you write do you write the first draft on a computer or paper and pen?
I do all of my writing on a computer.  In a pinch I'll write in Evernote on my phone, like if something comes to me when I'm lying in bed or out of the house and don't have my laptop.  I don't even take notes with pen and paper because I always lose them.

5. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
Not really.  I usually write in an office, though sometimes I'll write at Starbucks or another cafe for a change of scenery.  I usually write while my youngest is napping, or late at night after my kids are in bed.  I prefer to write at a desk or table over in bed or on the couch.

6. Do you have a favorite food or drink you must have nearby when writing?
I often drink coffee when I'm writing during the day.  If it's late at night, I don't usually drink anything.

7. Do you listen to music while you write?
Yes.  I have a couple of Pandora stations that I switch between.  But I focus better with the music playing.  It helps my brain to quit flitting from thing to thing and focus on what I'm supposed to be doing--writing.

8. What’s your favorite summertime activity?
I love summer.  Where I live it doesn't get dark until late, like after 9 pm, close to the solstice.  I like taking walks in the late evening, watching the August meteor showers, and going to the lake.

9. What are writing projects are you currently working on?
Right now I'm writing the third book for Players of Marycliff University.  I'm also in the process of revising and getting Rebound Revival, Book 3 in the Rebound Series, ready for publication.
