Wildest Dream (Teach Me, Book 1)

Synopsis:
The Teach Me series starts off with the story of Raine and Mac, the most unlikely of best friends…

Taken from his parents and bounced from one foster home to the next, former Navy SEAL turned math teacher, Callum “Mac” Mackenzie had a rough childhood. The only time he’s let himself get attached to anyone has been with his military “brothers”. He’s convinced he doesn’t know how to love and certainly doesn’t “do” relationships. He’s spent fourteen years in the Navy and now he gets to live out his other dream: teaching.

Her thirtieth birthday fast approaching, science teacher, Raine Thompson feels as if her time to find “the one” is running out. She knows life is short, especially after dealing with breast cancer two years ago, and wants to experience her own happily ever after. But is it in the cards for her?

Finally acting on the simmering attraction they have long ignored, Raine and Mac decide to have a fling and they discover what it’s like to have someone who knows you inside out also be the one who makes your body come alive.

But it was only temporary…

Hard To Handle (Teach Me, Book 2)
Synopsis:RC Boldt’s Teach Me series gives us a closer look at just how thin the line is between love and hate… Fifth grade social studies teacher, Laney Kavanaugh, is no stranger to being left behind – her father taught her that at a young age. That’s why she always has her eyes wide open when it comes to men. She’s determined she will never again be the one left behind. She doesn’t let sex blur what they’re really doing; it’s always just sex. Until Zach.

Zachariah Mayson, fifth grade writing and English teacher, has been the bane of Laney’s existence from the moment they met at their shared elementary school. She can’t stand him. He gets under her skin like no other and is always utterly obnoxious in his attempts–and successes–in getting a rise out of her.
Until the wedding.

The night of their friends’ wedding, Laney gives in to a moment of melancholy, knowing she’ll never be able to let her guard down enough to let a guy close, let alone someday get married. She and Zach end up having the hottest night she’d ever experienced, showing her another side of him, a softer, sweeter one he’d hidden from her until now. Because now, he hoped she was finally ready to “see” him.

But when you’ve always guarded yourself against falling in love, can you let go of the past in order to embrace the future?

Interview With RC Boldt:

  1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
I write contemporary romance books that tend to be light on the angst with equal parts humor, (hot) sexy times and serious story line. My books are centered around a group of friends who are either teachers or former military (mainly Special Ops). These characters are in their early to mid-thirties but have all faced obstacles and/or setbacks in their lives that have made them realize that life is short and nothing is ever guaranteed. There’s a lot of banter and silliness that goes on but when the chips are down, these friends are always there to support each other. My goal is to have my readers walk away after finishing one of my books with a smile on their face, musing about how much they enjoyed getting to know the characters I’ve created.
  1. Which book has been your favorite to write?
At this point, I would have to say Wildest Dream. That book is the closest I could come to actually writing a biography. So much of it actually happened to me in real lifethe hilariously awful dates, shenanigans with discovering “adult toys” at the school where I worked, dealing with the aftermath of surgery, and the nights out at the karaoke bar with our group of friends, etc.that it was fun (and a little tough, in some cases) to relive many of those moments.
  1. What inspires you to write?
My life and the lives of those closest to me. Honestly, my life often resembles a sitcom so I figured I would take others along for the ride, in a sense, and include some of it in my books. I draw much of my storyline from the people I am honored to know and call my friends/family.
  1. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
I actually have a table that is pseudo-reserved for me at the local coffee shop. I head over there after I drop my daughter off at her half-day preschool. I get my twenty-ounce thermos filled up, put in my earbuds and tackle my writing until it’s time to pick up my little one.
  1. Do you listen to music while you write?
Absolutely. I listen to an eclectic mix of musicfrom Florence & The Machine to Selena Gomez to Keith Urban to Jack Johnson. Oddly enough, I don’t really end up hearing much of it. It becomes more like white noise, drowning out everything else around me, allowing me to focus better on my writing.
  1. Do you work with an outline, or just write?
I do work with a pretty extensive outline. That’s probably the organizational freak in me. I work better once I outline the book from start to finish. It doesn’t mean that I don’t veer off and/or change it in some ways, though. I always end up doing the whole “Yeah, I’m not loving this. I think I’ll make [insert something way better] happen instead.” along the way.
  1. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I had thought about it for years but just never actually considered it a possibility. It wasn’t until I started looking into the whole world of writing and publishing, began networking and picking the brains of some amazingly gracious and successful authors, and spoke with some authors at a book signing that I finally decided I was going to give it a shot.
  1. What's your favorite TV show?
I’m not really a big TV person so I don’t really have a favorite show. We got rid of cable and satellite TV last year and I think the only thing I really miss is ESPN (I’m a *huge* college football fanGo Gators!).
  1. What are you working on next?
I am working on finishing up Remember When, Book 3 in the Teach Me series. This book is due to be released in early May. After that (in early September), there will be Laws of Attraction (Book 4) and then the first book (yet to be titled) in the Secure Me series will be Foster’s story (readers will remember him from the Teach Me series), due to be released in early December.
