WILD GAMES Book blurb:
Despite warnings of annoying mosquitos and beastly spiders, Becca Glover couldn’t be more excited about her expedition to Costa Rica. Rooming with Matt Ritter, however, is an inconvenience she doesn’t see coming. He wields a machete, shaves with a knife and needs to wear a decent amount of clothes to cover the muscles she can’t stop staring at.

Hired to lead a group of scientists through the jungle, Matt is convinced the fiery redhead is intent on making his job harder than it needs to be. Rebecca doesn’t listen and seems to invite danger at every turn. Her attitude is as much of a distraction as her curves and emerald green eyes. Now if he could only pay as much attention to his job as he does to her, their one-month adventure would fly by without a hitch.

Hot temperatures, wild animals and a shared tree house are just the beginning of Becca and Matt’s obstacles. The real challenge lies in surviving each other.

Excerpt:
“There is nothing to talk about,” she said once their eyes locked again. “Just keep your shirt on please.”
“Why?” he wanted to know.
Why? What the heck was she supposed to say? “Because it’s not decent.”
He barked with laughter. “I don’t give a rat’s ass about decency.”
“That much is obvious,” she said dryly. “But since you’re living with me, a woman, you might want to give decency a shot.”
“You’re not the first woman I shared a room with,” he started to say.
“Well, that’s not a surprise,” she mumbled. “And we’re not sharing a room, we’re sharing a house.”
“Whatever. The others didn’t have problems with my decency.”
Oh brother. This conversation was going nowhere.
“Well, I do. I need you to put your clothes on, keep them on and stay out of my way. Every time I try to focus, you’re distracting me and it’s getting annoying.”
His eyebrows shot up. “I’m pissing you off?”
“Yes,” she shot back before she could bite her tongue.
“Guess what? The feeling is mutual. You’ve been nothing but trouble since we got here.”
He was only a couple of feet away from her, but she didn’t care about the nearness. Now she was starting to get annoyed.
“I don’t see what I have done to make your job harder,” she said.
He let out a fake laugh. “It’s no smooth sailing keeping an eye on you, believe me.”
“As I’ve told you before, Mr. Ritter, you don’t need to keep an eye on me. I’m perfectly fine keeping an eye on myself.”
The nerve of that man to say she was difficult. Besides twisting her ankle, she had done nothing else to be an inconvenience to anyone. He, on the other hand, seemed to get some perverse pleasure out of torturing her.
“Whatever you say, sweet cheeks.”
“Stop calling me that!” The nicknames alone drove her crazy.
“Listen, lady. We are stuck together in this jungle and this hut, whether you like it or not,“ he said, taking a step forward. She resisted the urge to step back and insinuate that she was intimidated. She wasn’t. She just didn’t want to stare into his now angry eyes.
“You’re welcome to go sleep out there with the jungle cats,” he continued, “but I doubt you’ll wanna do that. So do us both a favor and calm down. You’re much safer with me here than out on your own. I’m not gonna bite and I keep my hands to myself.” He held up his hands as if to prove that they weren’t doing anything mischievous behind his back.
“Now, are you going to act like a normal person and give me some peace, or do I have to throw you over my shoulder and lock you in your room?” At this point, he was right up in her face.
At the mention of being thrown over his shoulder, she flinched and took a step back. “I thought you’d keep your hands to yourself.“
“I will as long as you don’t provoke me.”
She gulped. She’d definitely not provoke him.
“Are you calm now?” he asked, still much too close. His hazel eyes looked broodingly at her and his skin glistened with perspiration. Damn her for finding that arousing.
“Well?” he asked, raising his eyebrows.
She stared at his mouth, surrounded by the stubble along his jawline. Whatever he’d asked her slipped her mind.

INTERVIEW WITH MILA ROSSI:
1. Can you tell us a little about your books?
I think of my novellas as little afternoon delights; short, fun and sexy reads that you get through in an afternoon and feel good about afterward. There is always a happy ending, because my life is crazy and I need my stories to make me feel better. My travels have influenced my writing, so my stories might feature far away destinations or characters from different cultures. I think being exposed to the unfamiliar makes life interesting and the writing so much more fun. If I’m feeling up for the challenge, I also try to work in some controversial topics, such as marriage problems, student/teacher relationships or runaway fiancees. Hm, those sound a little out there, but I like taking a difficult situation and trying to make it light, fun and sexy. It’s pretty hard to do.
2. Which book has been your favorite to write?
The first one, which was UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Not sure if that’s because the story just flowed out of me or if it’s because I have a crush on the hero, Carlos. He’s got tattoos, muscles, dimples and I want to be alone with him. The story deals with a crumbling marriage, and it was one of the trickiest to write. I think it turned out great though and it’s the one I keep rereading when I have some free time.
3. What inspires you to write?
People ask me that all the time, and honestly, I have no idea. The stories just fill up my head until I put them down on paper. I have to say that the more books I write, the more ideas pop into my head, and I feel like I can’t keep up with the writing. When I have stories brewing, the inspiration to write as fast as I can strikes.
4. Do you have a favorite spot to write?
Unfortunately, no. I write wherever possible when my one-year-old kid is asleep.
5. Do you listen to music while you write?
Definitely not. I get easily distracted.
6. Do you work with an outline, or just write?
I learned my lesson and create an outline now. It makes the writing process so much easier. I create chapters, subchapters and prompts for each subchapter.

7. When did you know you wanted to write a book?
According to my family, when I was nine, which I don’t remember. When I was twenty-four, I started writing my first book, a historical romance, during my lunch break at work. I didn’t have an outline or any idea where the story was going, which is why I got stuck a third of the way through and stopped writing for five years. It was ridiculous. When I picked up a pen again, I was serious about it and got organized.

8. For someone who hasn't read any of you books yet, which one would you suggest they read first?
I’d start out with UNDER CONSTRUCTION, which has a little bit of everything; sexy dialogue, a hot contractor and a happily ever after. It does, however, deal with the sticky subject of a crumbling marriage, so if that’s something the reader isn’t into, I’d go with my latest release WILD GAMES, a romance set in the Costa Rican jungle. That was fun to write because the couple constantly bickers. It’s one of those enemies to lovers stories.
9. What are you working on next?
I am about halfway done with Sarah and Jason’s story, which deals with the consequences of their one-night-stand. I already had the outline done for a different book and this one just butted in and demanded to be written immediately. I got through the first half in about a week, and then the holidays and my little kiddo demanded attention, which broke my rhythm. I’m trying to get back into it now, and hoping to release that book in March 2016. It’s still untitled because picking titles is one of the hardest things for me. Other than that, I am publishing the first book in my Victorian-era series under the name Alice Lake in February, so I’m busy getting that ready. I set an ambitious goal for 2016, and that’s to publish two Mila Rossi novellas and two Alice Lake novels. We’ll see how successful I’ll be.
